We got to the school a bit late. Ten minutes late. I only know this due to the time on the radio. I still have no phone. However the morning was quite nice. I got to comb Allen's hair. Apparently he's only ever brushed it and combed it sometimes. He's still got tangles, but I'm no hair expert.

Asher had eaten his food too. And washed the dishes. Even if I told him I would do it. He's...kind.

"Okay you three hurry on in now."

"Bye dad!" They said in unison as they all poured out one by one. They ran up to the school halfway but stopped before running back. I popped open my passenger door seeing that they stopped just in front of it.

"Later Ms.Jasmine." Amper says.

"See you." Says Ashton.

"T-thank y-y-you."

"You boys are welcome." They spun back around and Amper and Ashton partook in a race as Allen just walked a bit behind them. I stepped out and patted my dress down.

I was embarrassed to see my underwear next to my clothes. Which means he touched my underwear. Ugh! How embarrassing.

"Thank you, Jasmine, for everything."

"Thank you for saving me from the rain."

A slight smile. "Any time."

I nodded slightly and was about to close the door before he stopped me with a statement I never thought I'd hear.

"Work for me."

I gazed at him, our eyes locking. "I...the boys seem to like you very much and...you can cook. If you want you can work at home and in the office even. I still...I still need help. And with the boys...if you want, you can help around the house as well. I-I'll pay you of course. Every week. For both jobs. At the office and home with the boys."

It was a lot to take in. "I..." Couldn't find words. "I...I'm not sure I can. I already have a job here at the school."

I saw a flicker in his eyes. "I fund those classes."

I got jittery. "Well...she was the only one that would hire me so." His gaze softened.

"I'm sorry about the interview. I wasn't... comfortable hiring someone else."

"Why hire me now? I've never been an assistant before. I'm not qualified, I heard it in your voice that I wasn't."

"You were peculiar." He states, but I felt like he hadn't meant to say that out loud.

"Peculiar?"

"Not like that, Jasmine. It's just...I like seeing my boys happy. I don't know how to cook and I feel like I barely get to spend time with them properly due to work. You're perfect. I-I mean in the sense of knowing what to do. Not that you're not perfect already. I mean I-

"I get it." Silence. "I'll think about it."

Asher nodded and I closed the door. It was awkward, that conversation.

I stared at the pamphlet, contemplating everything. There were three of them but, Charles Town caught my eyes. The country doesn't seem so bad. Right?

There was a knock and I shuffled them under a piece of paper. The door opened before I could say anything and cleared my throat.

Axel is quite literally the only person that's in and out of my office. "Do you have a key?"

He snorts. "Took you five years to figure that out?" He took his seat. Of course he does. I would say that my two security men are useless if they let him in all the time.
