The van hummed quietly as it sped through the dark streets of Busan, heading back to their safe house. The team's spirits were high; the capture of the rogue agent marked a significant milestone in their mission. The rogue, cuffed and glaring, sat between Taehyung and Jungkook, who kept a watchful eye on him.
Inside the van, the atmosphere was a mixture of tension and relief. The team was eager to extract the information they needed from the rogue agent, who was their key to unraveling the network of corruption they had been chasing.
Upon arriving at the safe house, Jin directed them to a makeshift interrogation room set up in one of the back rooms. The rogue agent, now securely restrained, was forced into a chair. Jin, Taehyung, and Yoongi stood in front of him, their expressions stern and unyielding, while Namjoon and the others monitored from a separate room, ready to assist as needed.
"Let's make this simple," Jin began, his voice cold and authoritative. "We need information about your operation and who you're working with. The sooner you talk, the easier this will be for you."
The rogue agent smirked, his eyes full of defiance. "You think you can scare me? I've dealt with worse than you."
Yoongi, standing beside Jin, kept his eyes locked on the rogue. He was quiet but calculating, always observing. "We're not here to scare you," he said coolly. "We just want answers. You're already in deep trouble, but cooperating might lessen the fallout for you."
The rogue agent chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "You have no idea what you're dealing with. Even if I tell you everything, you won't be able to stop what's coming."
Taehyung, who had been watching from the shadows, stepped forward. His approach was different—less aggressive, more understanding. "Look," he began, his voice steady. "You're in a tight spot. We know there's more at play here than just your small operation. Help us understand what's going on, and maybe we can help you, too."
The rogue's eyes flickered with a brief moment of uncertainty, and Taehyung could sense he was getting through. The agent was tough, but he was also scared—scared of whoever was pulling the strings.
Hours passed, and despite their best efforts, the rogue agent remained tight-lipped, offering only cryptic hints and veiled threats. The team knew they were running out of time. The rogue had to know something crucial, something that could change the course of their mission.
Jimin, who had been listening quietly from the back, finally stepped in, bringing a different energy to the room. "You know," he said, his voice softer yet firm, "you don't strike me as the kind of guy who's willing to take the fall for someone else's plan. Especially if it means going down alone."
The rogue agent's demeanor shifted slightly at Jimin's words. There was a momentary flicker of doubt in his eyes.
"Think about it," Jimin continued. "You tell us what you know, and we make sure you're protected. Otherwise, you're on your own."
Jin nodded, picking up on the shift. "You're running out of time. We've got a way out for you, but you need to start talking."
The rogue agent hesitated, clearly torn between his loyalty and his desire to survive. Finally, he spoke, his voice low and hesitant. "Alright... I'll talk. But I want assurances."
"You'll get them," Jin assured. "Now start talking."
The rogue agent began to reveal the details of his operation. He spoke of secret meetings, encrypted communications, and covert plans. He named his associates and provided crucial information about the industrial complex they were using as a base. But then he paused, his expression growing darker.
"There's something else," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Something bigger than just our operation. There's a plan—a master plan that goes beyond what you think. And it's already in motion."
Yoongi leaned in, his eyes narrowing. "What plan? What are you talking about?"
The rogue agent hesitated, glancing around as if fearing who might be listening. "It's a contingency plan," he said slowly. "If things go wrong, there's a backup plan. They call it 'Project Abyss.'"
"Project Abyss?" Taehyung repeated, frowning. "What is it?"
The rogue agent shook his head. "I don't know all the details. I just know it's supposed to be catastrophic—a way to cover their tracks, to erase everything and everyone involved."
Jin exchanged a worried glance with Yoongi. This was worse than they had anticipated. They needed more information and fast.
"Where can we find out more about this Project Abyss?" Jin demanded.
"There's a secure server," the rogue agent replied. "In a facility on the outskirts of the city. But it's heavily guarded. Getting in won't be easy."
Namjoon, still in the observation room, listened intently. Though he wasn't in the spotlight, he felt the weight of the situation. He knew his analysis would be crucial moving forward, but for now, he let the others handle the immediate crisis.
Jin glanced at Yoongi who nodded. He ushered everyone out of the room.
"All of you start packing up. We need to leave as soon as possible and inform the Chief about this Project Abyss."
The seven men went about the safe house packing up their belongings and equipment. The excitement of completing a successful mission was now replaced by nervousness of something unknown.
