𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧-𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠|| 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎

As she glanced over the monitor with Miguel, where he displayed what was happening over Earth-50101. The events appeared to be happening in the Indian city of Mumbhattan.
In the action, as the Spot was ruining and putting people in dangers, there was the Spider Society, with Gwen, Pavitr, Hobie and also Miles, all of them in their own suits.
When Miguel saw Miles' figure, he immediately glanced at Y/n, who was also surprised of why was he there in that moment.
<<What's going on?>> he demanded with a cold demanor.
<<I have no idea, I am as surprised as you are.>> she admitted.
In that moment, a small bubble appeared, as a reminder: "Cannon event incoming: Inspector Singh".
She glanced at Miguel, noticing his concentrated action showing on the screen. Every word, every action, every little detail was being recorded in his mind, not letting anything else distract him <<Lyla, tell the backup to let the cannon event happen and to do let anything interrupt it.>>
<<Okay, got it.>> the small A.I. recived his order.
Y/n knew that a cannon event couldn't be interrupted, because it would cause more problems, maybe even destroy the whole Earth.
In this timeline, Inspector Singh, a cop, had to die. That was the cannon even in that moment.
As Lyla sent the message to all the Spider People in action, Mumbhattan was falling all down: houses, monumets, bridges. And everyone started running, as our heroes saved them one by one.
As people run, a little girl was crying in the middle of the street, not knowing what she had to do. So scared and fragile. Inspector Singh noticed her, running towards the little girl and talking to her in Hindi, as everything was falling on them. Suddently, Miles jumped towards them, throwing them over his shoulders as he ran to get them to a safer place. But just then he found something in his way that made him stop, as wreckage fell over them.
When everything calmed down, Gwen ran towards them, taking every wreckage off to search the little girl, to search the cop, especially to see if Miles was alive. She was panting as finally she saw Miles holding the little girl in his arms, as Inspector Singh next to them, injuried but alive.
The small bubble appeared on the display: "Cannon event disrupted."
Y/n didn't realize how much breath she was holding in until she breathed out, being happy that nobody died. As she glanced at Miguel, she could just see him with a dead stare, staring at the display. <<Lyla, tell them to come back here.>>
<<Okay Miguel.>>.

They came back after some time, Miguel was so mad, silently ordering his display and all. She got off the platform where he was standing, as she saw Hobie, followed by Gwen and Miles whowas looking around.
<<He's alright?>> Hobie asked with his usual british dialect, glancing behind her shoulder to Miguel.
<<He's furious.>>
<<Bloody hell...>> he whispered, knowing how Miguel behaved when he was mad. He sat in a corner, as Gwen and Miles walked in. Gwen looked at her with a worried expression as if to say "We are fucked". Y/n nodded no as if to say "Don't worry, it's not that bad.".
Just then, her eyes shifted from her figure, to the boy next to her. Y/n felt nostalgic, how much she missed watching that now old face, when he was young, his small curls, his big round eyes. She just realized how much she missed her little dead brother, that now was here.
He looked pretty nostalgic too, looking at her and not knowing what to say <<H...Hey...>>
Y/n simply smiled genuinely, glad to see him all good and not injuried at all by the fight <<Hey.>>.
She moved beside them, as the platform where Miguel was standing, was going down. The man was still there, looking at the display in front of him.
Then Gwen spoke <<Miguel O'Hara meet Miles Morales.>>.
Miles was nervous, shifting from a foot to another, holding a small box in his hands <<Hey! ¿que tal, tío?>> then he glanced at Y/n, as if he needed some support <<I speak Spanish.>> then he glanced over Miguel, who was still turned <<Te trae un emp->> he got cuttled off by Miguel's web grabbing the box that Miles was holding. He slowly turned and looked at Miles, letting the box fall down <<Que maravilla...>> staring down at the young boy, really mad.
Miles got even more nervous but kept talking <<Is not... I am really excited to start. Ready fresh new ideas I have to catch The Spot. He wants just to be taken seriously and->>
<<Ah... wow.. ah hm...>> Miguel muttered as he grabbed something from his platform and throw it towards Miles, making him and Gwen jump back to do not get hitten, but Y/n grabbed it with her web, pulling it towards herself.
Finally Miguel started talking <<He's worried about Spot... I worry about the Spot!>> he raised his voice.
<<Miguel, it's not his fault.>> Gwen tried to explain.
<<Fault? Wait->>
<<You are blowing another hole in the multiverse!>> Miguel said.
<<He does not know any better.>> Gwen tried to defend him
<<I know- uh abou what?>>
<<But you did Gwen!>> he pointed straightly at her, making her sigh, knowing he is right. Then he turned to Hobie <<And you-! Ugh I am just trying to ignore you, I just can't.>>
<<I'm not even here.>> Hobie said, lying down.
Miles was even more confused <<What's going on?>>.
But all of the caos got interupted by a soft voice <<Miguel go easy on the kid... he had a terrible teacher.>> then Peter appeared by the dark, as Miles' eyes light up when he noticed his old friend,  reassuring him that Miguel was not dangerous, as they spoke and then he showed up his daughter's photos.
Y/n swang with her web to Miguel's platform <<Miguel come on->>
<<No. Not you too. Miles disrupted a cannon event, Gwen knew she had to stop him, and now even Peter is here for what?>> he was so mad, trying to keep it down.
<<I know you are mad, and I understand it. But try to understand them.>>
<<No I->> he got interrupted when Mayday, Peter's daughter, started crawling over him, he sighed and stayed still as Y/n was amused by the scene. She picked Mayday up, knowing Miguel was not a fan of babies. Well, maybe about other people's babies...
<<Why don't you just try to talk and explain all to him normally? So he understands, and so do I?>> she suggested, saying that she needed some explanations too. Mayday kept giggling and playing with her hair, as Miguel frowned at her statment but sighed. When Mayday crawled back to Peter, and he took her away to change the baby's diaper, Miguel turned to Miles, looking calmer than before <<Miles you disrupted a cannon event.>>
<<A cannon event?>> he repeated, confused <<But wait what were you upset abou? I saved those people.>>.
Miguel got off the platform, waling towards him <<And that's the problem... Lyla, do the thing.>>.
The small holographic figure appeared over his shoulder <<Huh? What thing?>>
<<The information explain-y thing.>>
<<Okay.>>
Suddently the lights went out, as something appeared. Lyla projected a gigant branching arterial multiverse map that Miles still didn't understand at all <<What's this?>>.
<<This... is everything.>> Miguel said.
<<Can you be more specific?>>
<<Can you be quiet for a second?>>.
Just when Miles stayed quiet, a Web Pattern emerged as Miguel explained <<And this is all of us. Every confirmed spider. All of our lives woven together, in a beautiful Web of Life and Destiny.>>.
<<The Spider-Verse.>> Miles said.
<<Spider-Verse.>> Miguel did the eco <<Huh, that’s... stupid. It’s called the Arachnohumanoid Polymultiverse. Which sounds... stupid too I guess.>>. Just then, Miles' eyes wandered to some nodes <<And these nodes, where the lines converge?>>
<<They are The Canon. Chapters that are a part of every spider’s story, every time.>> The nodes expand to project big moments in their shared lives: A spider bites Peter Parker, Peter B. Parker, Gwen, Miles... <<Some good, some bad, some very bad.>>
Then happeared bad scenes of Spiders losing loved ones, including Miles losing Uncle Aaron. His eyes widened, seeing that horrible scene for the second time. A node opened up, showing a classic  moment where a cop saves a red-shirted child from a falling rubble, only to be crushed himself.
<<This one, Event ASM90, a police captain close to Spider-Man dies saving a kid from falling rubble during a battle with an archnemesis.>> Miguel explained, his eyes darting to Y/n, as she slowly realized something, why her father died, her eyes watered up too. A cannon event.
Miguel eyes went back over Miles' figure <<That’s how the story is supposed to go. Canon events are the connections that bind our lives together. But those connections can be broken. That’s why anomalies are so dangerous. Inspector Singh’s death was a Canon event. You weren’t supposed to be there and you weren’t supposed to save him. And now, Miles, because you changed the story, Pavitr’s dimension is unraveling.>> he sighed <<If we’re lucky we can stop it. We haven’t always been lucky.>>
<<That wasn’t me, that was the Spot!>>
<<It’s what happens when you break the canon.>>
<<How do you know?>>
<<Because I broke it once myself.>> Miguel said, explaining what happened. Y/n knew his story already <<Once, I found another world where I had a family. Where I was happy. At least a version of me was. And that version of myself was killed. So I replaced him. I thought it was harmless, but I was wrong.>>. He took a pause, glancing in Miles' eyes <<You break enough canon, save enough captains, we could lose everything.>>
Suddently, the lines of the web snap.
Nodes explode in white light, the whole web shatters into emptiness. Then Miles' small cracked voice could be heard <<My father is about to be captain.>>
