Hazel was huge, in her own opinion. She was just weeks away from her due date and wanted to pick up a few last-minute supplies before her son arrived. Nik was a hoverer and hated when she went out alone, she had agreed to a Hybrid bodyguard to appease him. Really, she used the poor Hybrid as a pack mule for her packages.
Looking through a rack of baby onesies, her magic alerted her to a witch following her. Not wanting to let the witch know she was onto her, Hazel bought her items and walked out of the store. She had noticed the same feeling for a few days and today, she was over it.
The witch was close enough, Hazel was able to freeze her without alerting the stalker she knew she was there. Approaching her victim, she asked, "Care to explain why you have been following me for the last three days?"
The witch could only look at her with wide eyes, gasping, she asked "How did you"
Hazel smirked, "Magic. Now, you're coming home with me and we're going to have a chat." Looking to the Hybrid who had been her constant shadow, "Could you take her to the house? Let Nik know not to hurt her, I'll be there shortly." With a nod, the Hybrid took the witch and flashed away.
~~~
Nik glared silently at the witch his Hybrid had said was following his wife. He and Hazel had gotten married a couple months ago, just them, their family and her godson in attendance. Hazel hadn't wanted a big wedding and Nik wanted whatever made her happy. He was just happy she actually married him. Now, he was trying to figure out why this witch had been stalking his wife.
Hazel entered the house, noticing Niks glare. Walking over to him, she kissed his jaw before turning to the witch. "Why have you been following me? Don't deny it, I know you have."
The witch looked between the couple, "My name is Freya Mikaelson, I'm your eldest sibling."
Of course, Nik didn't believe her and had to be held back when Freya explained why she was there. It was only when Finn was brought in that they found out she was telling the truth. Hazel didn't like the idea of some ancient bitch coming for her baby. No one would take her child while she and Nik were alive, lucky for them, they couldn't die.
Freya had told them she needed to go back, Dahlia would find her and take the baby if she didn't leave now. No one was going to let her leave, she was family. It also seemed, Hazel still had her saving people issue.
~~~
Damon was watching Hazel closely. She had put together everything needed for the spell to stop Dahlia and was sent to him to stay out of the plan and to relax. Nik must not understand that Hazel didn't know how to relax while she was worried. Instead, she was attempting to play match make between Elena and Enzo.
Damon had to hold his laughter at her obviousness, but he could tell something was off with his daughter. When it finally clicked, he wanted to smack himself. He remembered the day Lily had gone into labor and realized Hazel was showing all the same signs. Shooting a text to Nik, he kept his eyes on her until backup arrived.
Hazel had tried to ignore the tightening in her stomach and breath through the pain. She had read that the first baby usually took the longest, so she didn't want to alarm anyone. She kenw Nik and the others were handling their aunt and didn't want to disrupt them. She needed the woman dead before delivering her son, she didn't want a chance for that woman to come after him. Day had just sat her down for lunch, placing a plate before her.
"Eat. I know what's going on and you're going to need your energy." At her confused look, he glared, "I watched Lily do the same thing. I've texted Nik, so you should contact your healer."
Sighing, she nodded and ate her food before sending a message off to her healer. It was a good thing she had too, her contractions were picking up.
~~~
Nik watched as his siblings spread around the area they had set up for the trap. Freya had helped lure Dahlia to them with the promise of his child. As if he would ever give away his son, a part of him. The text he had received from Damon made him antsy. They needed to get this done, he needed to get to his wife.
Freya entered the space with their aunt following. Knowing she had done her part, she waited for her siblings to appear. She couldn't help but jump when Dahlia called out, "Well, where is the child? You said she would be here giving birth. Where is she?"
Nik walked out at that, "Did you really believe I would just hand my child over to you? Even if my wife didn't kill me, I would never subject any child to suffer what you have put Freya through!"
Dahlia glared, "Your child was promised to me, all first born belong to me! My sister made the deal, and you will honor it!" She had tried to move but found herself unable to.
Nik smirked as all of his and Hazels family walked out, "Now see here, my wife is special and has someone for you to meet. Normally, he wouldn't come if I called but he's luckily already agreed to help." He watched as Dahlia paled when she realized she was surrounded. "Death, you Mistress needs you."
While Dahlia was focused on the new person, Nik rushed forward and stabbed her with the dagger Hazel had prepared. Nik had stabbed her right between the shoulder blades. Death smiled, sending shivers down everyone's spines. "My Mistress said you wanted to steal her baby. No one harms my Mistress or little Master. You shall join Ester and Mikael in eternal suffering." With that, shadows surrounded a screaming Dahlia before he disappeared.
~~~
Nik, seeing the woman dead, rushed from the area with his family close behind. Entering the boarding house, he found Damon rubbing Hazels back as another contraction hit. He moved to her side, kneeling next to her, "Are you doing alright luv?"
Hazel glared in return, unable to speak as another contraction hit, sending pain all over. Once it passed, she took a deep breath, "I've been holding him in for the last hour. Is it safe?"
"Dahlia's dead. Our son is safe."
"Oh, thank god, take me upstairs, the healers are waiting." Nik lifted her into his arms and took her to the room they had prepared. He greeted the healers as he laid Hazel on the bed.
One healer moved into position, looking between the soon to be parents, she asked, "Are you ready to meet your son?"
Hazel nodded but felt another contraction coming, Nik tried to sooth her. "I swear, you better keep your dick away from me after this." She growled once the contraction ended.
Nik remained silent, like any smart man would. When the healer told Hazel to push, he held her leg up for her. It took seven pushes before their son was born. Nik understood now why they couldn't go to a normal hospital. Hazel had burst all of the electronics in the room while pushing.
Another healer came to attend to their son while the first was still healing Hazel. She loved that magic made the whole after delivery thing so much easier. She would be back on her feet in no time. Looking to her husband, his eyes were glued to their son. Hazel had gotten so lucky with them. She had an amazingly loving husband, and now an even more amazing little boy. She couldn't be any happier with her life.
Damon must have had enough waiting because as soon as the healer told her she was good, he burst through the door. Rushing over to Hazels side, he made sure she was okay. When the healer placed the little bundle in his daughters' arms, he felt the tears escape.
"Does grandpa want to see him?" Nik joked but only received a nod and sniffle in return. Nik helped Hazel move the blanket down to show their sons face.
"Poor kid, he's got the Potters hair." Damon joked, "What's his name?" Somehow, the rest of the family crammed into the room with them.
Nik kissed the top of Hazels head, nodding for her to tell them. Smiling, she says, "Everyone, meet Damien Mikaelson. Who better to name him after than the man who loved me enough to raise me?"
