Ishitha's POV
I stood there, frozen, staring at the sea of packages that now filled every corner of my bedroom.
When Aadarsh had said he'd send a dress,
I hadn't expected him to send a whole boutique.
The doorbell had barely stopped ringing before his men had piled in, carrying bag after bag.
It was overwhelming.
What did he expect me to do with all of this?
I began to open a few of the packages, curiosity getting the better of me.
Inside the first bag was a delicate diamond necklace, glittering under the light like it was meant for royalty.
My breath hitched as I carefully lifted it, the weight of it resting in my palm.
The next few bags revealed an array of jewelry- bracelets, earrings, rings- everything sparkling, everything far too extravagant for someone like me.
Then, there were the heels.
I had never seen anything like them, so elegant and high, designed to make anyone feel like they owned the world.
But what caught my eye the most was the dress.
When I pulled it out, I was in complete awe.
The fabric was soft and elegant, the kind that would flow with every step, hugging in all the right places.
I had never been inside a designer store, never imagined wearing something like this.
And now here it was, lying on my bed like a dream made real.
My chest tightened as I held it against me, staring at the reflection in the mirror.
I felt like a stranger like someone stepping into a world that wasn't theirs.
I couldn't believe this was happening.
My Husband, the man who barely even acknowledged my likes, interests, and beliefs had sent me all this?
A part of me wanted to shove everything back into the bags and send it all away.
But another part- a smaller, quieter voice in the back of my mind-wondered if maybe, just for tonight, I could let myself be someone else.
I bit my lip, hesitating.
Was it that easy to let go of everything, to pretend none of this chaos existed?
