Ishitha's POV"Please..."
"Do...n't"
"Don't do this."
"I will do anything you say, please."
The words fell from my lips, desperate, raw, and pleading, my voice cracking with each breath I forced out.
"Please don't make me hate myself more than I already do..."
"Please."
"Please...ahhh"
"I've already lost everything in my life"
"Please don't let me lose my dignity too"
"Please"
I broke out crying, not able to control it anymore.
The moment those words left my mouth, everything stopped.
His hands, his lips, his overwhelming presence—they all halted.
For a second, there was only silence.
Then, as a spell had shattered, he froze his hands lingering mid-air, his gaze unblinking.
His expression twisted, and he stumbled backward, his eyes widening as if he'd seen something terrifying.
The eyes usually filled with darkness had vanished, replaced by something else—
Something broken and hollow.
He stared at me,
Eyes dilated,
Lost,
Like he'd woken from a nightmare he couldn't escape.
They weren't filled with darkness anymore.
They were filled with pain—
Raw, unrecognizable pain.
He kept retreating, scrambling back on the bed until he reached the edge.
And then, as though he couldn't hold himself upright anymore, he tumbled to the floor, still in that same dazed, unseeing state.
Crumpling like a broken doll.
My heart pounded in my chest, and with a surge of desperation, I reached for the duvet, wrapping it tightly around myself.
The fabric felt like a shield, a thin, fragile barrier, but it was all I had.
For a moment, I just sat there, shivering, watching him as he sat on the floor, staring off into nothing, his breathing ragged.
I stayed huddled under the duvet, my body trembling, my heart still racing, trying to make sense of the sudden shift.
For a moment, the terror in his eyes was more frightening than his touch had been.
His breathing was ragged, his gaze unfocused, as though he were trapped in a nightmare that had somehow become real.
The man who controlled everything with a mere look, who made me beg, who consumed me... was broken in front of me.
