Being hired as a personal chef for a star NFL player should have been a dream job. Instead, it quickly turned into a culinary nightmare.
The player in question, Moon Junhui, had one peculiarity that made working with him anything but easy: he was an extremely picky eater. The catch?

His palate was stuck in childhood.

From the moment you walked into his lavish kitchen, it was clear that this was going to be a challenge. The first day on the job, Junhui greeted you with a smirk that suggested he knew exactly what kind of trouble he was about to put you through.

"Alright, Chef," Junhui announced, plopping down at the kitchen counter. "What's for breakfast?"

You glanced at the empty pantry, then at the shopping list he'd given you: peanut butter sandwiches, dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets, and mac 'n' cheese "Are you serious?" you asked, trying to hide your disbelief.

Junhui raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong? These are classics."

"Classics for a five-year-old," you muttered, grabbing the ingredients and starting on the sandwiches. "You're an adult, Junhui. We need to get some variety in your diet."

Junhui pouted. "But I don't want to eat 'adult food.' It tastes weird."

"Well, you can't live on dinosaur nuggets forever," you said, rolling your eyes.

The days that followed were a series of culinary battles. Junhui had strong opinions about everything. When you tried to introduce him to sushi, he looked at it like it was a foreign object. "What even is this?" he asked, poking the sushi roll with a look of pure horror.

"It's sushi. You know, rice, fish, seaweed?" you explained patiently.

"Does it come with a side of dinosaur nuggets?" Junhui asked hopefully.

"No," you said flatly. "It's supposed to be a balanced meal."

His bottom lip jutted out in a dramatic pout. "But I like my nuggets."

It was a constant back-and-forth. The only respite you got was during the rare moments when Junhui was actually quiet, which usually meant he was engrossed in a video game.

One day, while you were preparing another batch of mac 'n' cheese, Junhui wandered into the kitchen, looking particularly grumpy.

"I don't get why you're always trying to change my food," he complained, leaning against the counter. "I mean, this is what I like."

"You need to eat healthier," you said, stirring the pot. "You can't live on comfort food alone."

Junhui folded his arms, giving you a pouty look. "Well, maybe I just like being a kid."

"That's no excuse for being a brat," you said, turning to face him. "Besides, there's more to food than just what's comfortable."

He crossed his arms and stared at you with a mix of frustration and something else-somewhat understanding. "Maybe... maybe you're right."

That night, you decided to surprise him. Instead of the usual menu, you whipped up a fusion dish that combined his favorite childhood foods in a more sophisticated way. When Junhui walked into the kitchen and saw what you'd made, his eyes widened.

"What's this?" he asked, genuinely curious.

"It's a little something I put together," you said with a grin. "It's got a bit of everything you like, but with a grown-up twist."

Junhui took a bite, and his expression changed from skepticism to surprise. "This..." This is actually really good."

You couldn't help but laugh. "See? I told you there's more to food than just nuggets and mac 'n' cheese."

Junhui's eyes lingered on you, a new warmth in his gaze. "You really do know how to cook, don't you?"

"Only when I'm not busy arguing with my picky client," you teased, glancing at him with a playful smile.

As the days turned into weeks, the whimsical banter between you and Junhui became more frequent.
You found yourselves sharing laughs over burnt toast and debating the merits of various comfort foods. Slowly, the kitchen became less of a battlefield and more of a place where you both found solace.

One evening, while you were both relaxing after dinner, Junhui leaned against the counter, watching you clean up. The air was filled with a comfortable silence.

"You know," he said suddenly, "I didn't expect this job to be so....eventful."

You looked up, meeting his gaze. "Oh? And how's that?"

He shrugged, a shy smile tugging at his lips. "I guess I didn't realize I'd be getting a chef who'd end up being my favorite person to hang out with."

You felt your heart flutter at his words. "And I didn't realize I'd end up enjoying spending time with a brat like you."

Junhui's smile grew, and he took a step closer to you. "Maybe you've turned me into a bit of a brat, but I think I'm okay with that."

You laughed softly, your eyes meeting his. "Maybe I've turned you into a bit more than just a brat."

The kitchen wasn't just a place for meals anymore; Junhui's frisky teasing turned into genuine affection, and the once-difficult job became a joy you looked forward to every day.

As you were finishing up dinner, Junhui wrapped his arms around you from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder. "You know, I think you're the best thing that's ever happened to me," he said softly.

You turned in his embrace, looking up at him with a smile. "And you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, too."

In the end, the job you thought would be a challenge turned into a beautiful romance, and the kitchen became a place where love was seasoned with laughter and joy.
