Chapter 14

Reader's POV

Aaron bursted out laughing. "Are you kidding?"

I frowned, my cheeks turning red in embarrassment. "You promised not to laugh!"

"I know." Aaron's laughter soon came to a stop. "Why'd you jump out of the window?"

"Well... I've never jumped out of a window before and it seemed convenient at the time." I recalled running away from Gene and abandoning Aphmau to fend for herself a few days ago.

My ears pointed down and my tail stopped behind me. Guilt over came me, why did I just leave Aphmau behind? Why did I let Sasha's words mess with me so much? What's going on?

Aaron grabbed my attention again. "Hey, look. I'm sorry if my teasing made you feel bad. I won't laugh at you jumping out of the window again. This time, I'll keep my promise."

My heart swelled. "Thanks, Aaron." I smiled.

We finally arrived to our destination. Werewolf class. We made our way to our seats and I turned my attention to the front of the class.

"You know, you should make a point to get to class a little earlier. Since you are the Alpha female." Fenrir leaned over, resentment and annoyance apparent in his voice.

"Yeah, yeah. I know." I brushed off. Seems like Fenrir is in a great mood today compared to other days; he actually made an effort to talk to me.

Fenrir scoffed and focused back on the teacher.

Nevermind.

.

I looked over my notes. Ugh, I'm no good at this at all. My brother was the one who would help me understand werewolf stuff. I sighed, rubbing my temples in tiredness. Looks like I'll have to have another phone call with my brother later.

"And that's why you should always be sure to mark your territory."

RIIINGGGG

The bell rang, interrupting Mr. Gavin.

Mr. Gavin clasped his hands. "Alright students! We'll pick up on this lesson next time. Be sure to leave your homework on my desk if you haven't already!"

Mr. Gavin punched the window broken. "And have a great weekend!" He jumped out.

I felt eyes staring at me and I turned around to look at Aaron. He waved with a small smile on his face. I could tell he was trying not to laugh. One day, I will master the art of jumping out of windows.

Fenrir quickly got out of his seat and rushed to the door. I rolled my eyes at him.

I left my homework on Mr Gavin's desk and made my way to the door as well, catching Aphmau on the way out.

As I was about to speak, Aaron jumped into the conversation. "Did you guys do your homework for the week?"

Aphmau knitted her eyebrows together. "First thing you say to me in forever much!? Why do you even care?"

"Just wondering. Uh... I might have wanted to copy it..."

"It's not my fault you didn't do your stupid homework!" Aphmau huffs.

"Loser says what?" Aaron says quickly.

I rolled my eyes at his behavior.

"What?!" Aphmau paused.

I intervened before anything could happen. "You can copy my homework, Aaron. It's on the teacher's desk."

Aaron nodded his head, chuckling at Aphmau before heading back into the classroom.
