In the morning, Rowan woke up first to Paige still holding her close. She flipped over to she was face to face with the blonde. Rowan smiled at Paige's soft snores, she looked so peaceful. Rowan leaned down, kissing the corner of Paige's pink swolen puffy lips. Paige's nose scrunched together, and that's when it hit Rowan, she was in love. She was totally in love with the girl she had hated for years.
"You're so cute" Rowan whispered, in Paige's blonde hair, thinking Paige was dead asleep. Paige blinked her eyes open, "what did you say" she smiled at the brunette, "uh I said you look like a boot" Rowan teased, sitting up and leaning on the headboard. Paige took Rowan's hand, placing soft kisses on each knuckle then holding it close to her. "someone's needy" Rowan teased, "says the girl who just kissed me!" Paige laughed.
"Fuck Paige!" Rowan said as she clicked her phone, displaying the time, "I gotta go, my game starts in two hours!" Rowan said, about to get out of bed but Paige wasn't letting that happen. "Wait, stay? Just for one more minute, I don't wanna let you go just yet" Paige said, pouting. "Paige I'm sorry but I have to go get ready. How about this, I'm going to the football game tonight, I'll see you there?" She asked Paige as she got out of bed. "Ugh I can't! The basketball girls and I have to go to Genos for a team dinner" Paige whined.
"You know what, I can just skip Genos" Paige said, getting out of bed aswell. "No! You're not doing that" Rowan said as she walked to the door, Paige following her. "When will I get to kiss you again?" Paige said, making Rowan blush and turn to face her. Rowan put her hands on Paige's chest. Rowan laughed "bye asshole" she smiled and left before Paige could say a word.
"You little-" Maggie pounced on Rowan the second she opened the dorm door. "Mags! Get off of me" Rowan laughed, puttig her stuff down. "Where have you been?" Maggie smirked, "Paige's" Rowan said, with a straight face. "YOU had sec with Paige Bueckers?!" Maggie gasped, "WHAT?! Ew no! Almost did" Rowan smirked, sitting down on the couch.
"What? Fill me in!" Maggie said, grabbing two diet cokes from the fridge and joining Rowan on the couch. Rowan went over every detail from last night, making Maggie cringe and laugh at the same time. "Stop it! You're fucking in love with her!" Maggie smiled, squeezing the girls arm. "Maybe a little" Rowan smiled. She couldn't help but to not smile at the thought of the blonde.
"So are you guys like secretly dating or?" Maggie asked standing up, reaching her arm out for Rowan to take. She the blonde hoisted Rowan up on her feet, "no, we're not dating yet. I swear she was almost going to ask me like five times last night" Rowan laughed. "She's prob waiting no for the right time, anyways, if she did, would you say yes?" "Ya, I mean who wouldn't. But I would want it to be secret, I don't need the whole fucking campus knowing"
The softball girls game was at 1 in the afternoon, so they would have the perfect amount of time to get ready for the football game that starts at 7. Rowan, Maggie, Amelia and two other girls were planning on going to the UConn football game tonight.
A hour into practice, Rowan was already exhausted. She practice her swing before stepping up to the plate, making eye contact with the pitcher. Rowan's heart is racing, whether it was practice or the biggest game of the season, she was always nervous when she was up at batt.
She found a trick, that made her nerves come down. She planted her feet down in the dirt, and bent her knees. She thought about something she loved, something that made her happy, and she pretended it was just her and that thing that made her smile. Yesterday her happy spot was a bread roll, she was quite hungry. But today it was Paige, just her and Paige on the pitching field, swinging the batts around.
She imagined that Paige was pitching to her, nobody watching, just her and the blonde. The pitcher winded up and threw the ball perfectly at her. Rowan whipped her batt through the air, her hands vibrating from the ball and batt contact. "NICE BALL KOROS! Perfect execution! Well played Koros" her Coach yelled, patting her back. Rowan smiled at her accomplishment, proud of herself.
After practice the softball girls got ready for the football game. Rowan threw on some baggy jeans and a UConn top. Rowan wished Paige was going to the game, so she could see her, but she knew she would have fun without her. She debated sending the blonde a text but decided not to, she didn't want to come off as clingy.
"I'm gonna go get a drink, want something?" Maggie said as the game was about to start. The whole softball team was standing in the student section of the bleachers, waiting for the game to start. "Sure I'll have a high noon" Rowan said to her best friend. "Bro I still can't believe how far your ball went at practice today" Nora, one of Rowan's teammates, said to her. Rowan smiled back at her comment, "how did you do that?" Nora asked, while Rowan shrugged her shoulders in response.
