PART 23

Today was Paige birthday. Rowan woke up in her own bedroom, alone, she didn't get much sleep last night cause she was so excited for today. She sent a text to Paige then headed to the gym, then showered, and got ready for the day.

It was currently 8:30am and she couldn't wait any longer to see Paige. She wanted the girl to sleep in but also she was itching to see her. Rowan swung open Paige and Nikas dorm door, heading straight to Paige's bedroom door. She opened it to find an empty bed, "where the birthday girl?" She asked Nika who just got up from bed, hoodie on and tired eyes, "uh I think she said something about going to the gym to shoot around by herself" the brunette said, sounding unsure, "I was half asleep so..."

Rowan smiled and bolted out of that room. She ran all the way to the basketball courts, to see little miss Paige herself, dribbling the ball up and down the court, by herself. Rowan snuck up on her, tiptoeing carefully. She jumped onto Paige's back, wrapping her legs securely around the blondes waist. "Happy birthday, bunny!" Rowan screamed in her ear.

Paige swung the girl around so they were face to face, Rowan's legs wrapped around the blondes waist while Paige had a hand on Rowan's ass, holding her up. "Hi birthday girl" Rowan smiled. Paiges face lit up, her smile wide and bright. "Hi"

Rowan leaned in, Paige aswell, very slowly and carefully. Breathing and not breathing, chest to chest, heart to heart, they were so close to each other that Rowan couldn't even feel her legs. She couldn't feel the coldness in the gym or the emptiness in the room because all she felt was Paige , everywhere, filling everything.

Paige made the move and connected their lips together. Her lips were soften than anything Rowan had ever known, soft like a first snowfall, like biting into cotton candy, like melting and floating and being weightless in water.

"Okay! Do you want your present now or later?" Rowan said, hopping down from Paige's legs. "Baby. You shouldn't have gotten me anything, I already have everything I want, I have you. Now let's play some 1 on 1." Paige said, running away and dribbling the ball.

"I'm on offense, now try and get the ball from me" Paige said, turning around once she was far down the court. She started running and dribbling with the ball, when she came closer to the net, Rowan started to defend her. The brunette raised her hands up, waving them around, blocking Paige's view of the hoop. She shuffled around, with Rowan quick on her tail.

Paige stopped moving around, she held the ball in her hands, with Rowan standing right in front of her. Paige quickly kissed the girls lips, distracting her, then ran away and shot the ball, it easily going in. "Hey! That's not fair" Rowan laughed. "Oh stop whining, you poor loser" Paige teased. Rowan was now fired up, she sprinted towards Paige, snatching the ball from her hands and running up the other side of the court. She stopped at the three line and shot it in before Paige could even run up to her.

"Tie game" Paige panted, clapping her hands together as she walked to go get the ball. Paige stood at the three, looking up at the net, her fingers tapping on the ball. "So, how would you feel if we went to the WNBA Suns basketball game tonight?" Rowan whispered, so quickly, Paige could barely form the words. "WAIT! WHAT?" Paige's head turned. Rowan smirked, shrugging her shoulders, and walking away. Paige ran after her, spinning her around and smashing her lips on Rowan's mouth.

"YES! Are you for real?" Paige smiled, holding Rowan's waist, pulling her in closer. "Court side Bunny, I'm so real right now" Rowan laughed. Paiges face fully lit up, like a little kids on Christmas morning. "I know how you love watching live basketball games" Rowan said making the blonde blush.

Paiges arms wrapped around Rowan's body, pulling her into a long, warm, safe, hug. "I love you, thank you so much baby! This is the best surprise ever!" Paige squealed in her ear. "Oh there's more to the surprise" Rowan said, pulling away from her and heading to the double doors. "I'll pick you up at 6!" The brunette yelled before blowing a kiss to Paige and walking to her car.
