Step three went perfectly. Rowan admired the girl as she smiled and hugged all of her friends. She was in pure shock, and she made sure Rowan knew she was thankful for it. "Thank you again baby. This is perfect, more than I could ever imagine" Paige smiled, intertwining their fingers as they sat, waiting for the game to begin.
"Bunny, if you thank me one more time-" Rowan said, standing up and looking at all the girls, "bathroom anyone?" She called, watching Nika shoot up from her seat. "Me!!"
The two brunettes stumbled out of there seats, making their way to the bathroom. "Is this the line for the bathroom?" A tall blonde man asked. "No it's for the bar" Rowan joked but the man didn't quite get it. "Actually?" "No no! I'm kidding, yes this is the bathroom line" Rowan giggled.
The man laughed, and Rowan could feel Nika pinching her side. "So you're a Connecticut Suns fan?" He asked, pointing to Rowan's jersey. "Ah, yes!" Rowan said. "Ooo I shouldn't be talking to you then" the man laughed. "Oh why?" "Cause I'm a Fever fan, we're rivals" he explained as his eyes widened.
Nika tapped Rowan's shoulder, indicating that it was their turn to use the bathroom. "Well I gotta go, bye" Rowan turned to the man then walked into the bathroom. "Rowan! He so was hitting on you!" Nika laughed, teasing her as she shimmied her shoulders. "What? You think? No no no the is is bad. I talked to him, no, I have a girlfriend. I love my girlfriend. Nika! Did I just cheat on Paige?!" Rowan stressed, running her hands through her hair.
"No no Rowan, you did not just cheat on Paige. I was just reading chill" Nika laughed her ass off.
When Rowan and Nika come out of the bathroom and join the girls, Nika wastes no time filling in the girls on what just happened.
"Ro no way!" Azzi laughed. "I mean I'm not surprised, you're a hottie!" Aaliyah winks. Rowan gave her a look, she could feel Paige's eyes burning holes into hers. "In my defense, I didn't think or know he was hitting on me" The brunette said, putting her hands up in quotations as she said 'hitting on me' "I thought he was just being friendly, so stop teasing!" She laughed, trying to get them to stop before Paige ripped their heads off. It was Paige's day, and nothing was going to ruin that.
I gave Nika a look, when the girls didn't stop teasing. "Alright shut up! It's not funny anymore. He was low key a creep so" Nika yelled. Rowan mouthed a thank you to her than leaned back in her chair. "Bunny I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cheat on you-" Rowan whispered in her ear, "Rowan you didn't cheat on me, having a friendly conversation with another person is not cheating" Paige laughed. "So you not mad? I'm so sorry, I wanted this day to be perfect for you and I ruined it" Rowan hummed in her ear.
Paige put a hand on Rowan's bare upper thigh, rubbing it with her thumb, back and fourth. "I promise I'm not mad. Your allowed to speak to other people" the blonde laughed, "and this day had been incredible, the best birthday I have ever had. You did not ruin it what so ever. I love you Rowan Grey, remember that. Now stop stressing and let's watch some basketball!" Paige smiled, turning her face to the court.
Rowan took a deep breath and shook her head. She decided to drop it, let her mind focus on the game in front of her.
Rowan watched the game, slightly confused, cheering whenever the other girls did. She jumped every time Paige would stand up from her seat, clapping and screaming loudly. The blonde really got into the game.
When the game ended, the girls got to meet and take pictures with some of the players. Rowan loved watching Paige get so excited every time she saw someone famous.
Paige and Rowan drove back in their own separate car. When they got back to the dorms, Rowan insisted to walking Paige home. Little did Paige know there was a huge surprise waiting for her. "And when Carrington got that three, wow" Paige said, unlocking the door, the girl hasn't shut up about the game since it had ended.
