I heard movement across from me. I looked at the person making the noise, he must be awake.
"Hey, Hen." I said. He looked up at me.
"Jess? So I was right in assuming the crazy bastard has a thing for you. Guy's a psycho." He replied.
"I don't understand why we're here. It just doesn't make sense."
"Isn't it obvious? The man is obsessed with you. I don't get why I'm still alive, though.
"Yeah, well if it's any case, I'm glad you are. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you died because of me." He nodded.
"Hey, Jess. I just wanna say I'm sorry for how I treated you when we were together, and for cheating on you."
"Yeah, you were a jackass." I told him with a small chuckle. He let out a chuckle as well.
"Well, I'm sorry for that."
I shrugged. "Water under the bridge. Honestly, us breaking up helped me realize I'm in love with someone else. Someone that's probably worried shitless right now."
"Oh, who's the lucky guy?" He asked me with a small smile. Probably trying to make conversation.
Screw it, I can at least tell someone. "Well, it's not a guy, for starters." I felt a little blush creep up on my cheeks.
"Oh? Well then, who's the lucky girl?" He put emphasis on the word 'girl'. "Wait, let me guess. Lauren?" How did he know?
"How did you know? Is it that obvious?"
"Not so much of that, but yes it is." He laughed a little and continued. "It's just that's the only girl you're close to and hell anyone can see how y'all look at each each other. It's quite clear."
Really? Damn. "I didn't mean to make it obvious."
"Well, of course you don't. No one does. You can't hide when you're in love with someone. If you can, you're either lying or just a psychopath." I nodded at his words, he had a point. Then, I got hung up on something he said.
"Hey, Hen? You said the way we look at each other, are you saying she's in love with me too?"
"Oh wow, your blonde is showing hard right now." I glared at him. "Obviously, she is. I'm surprised you don't see it. That girl would move mountains and oceans for you."
I let the realization sink in and thought about all the times we shared together. Wow, I guess it was pretty obvious.
Joe walks in and realization sinks in, I don't have time for cute romantic feelings in my life anymore.
He looks angry and I don't know why. He goes to the table and grabs the gun. He then fires 2 shots into Henry. No words were spoken. Only the gunshot sounds and someone screaming. I think it's me, I'm too in shock to register who it really is.
Joe looks at me and walks towards me. I try to back away scared but my attempts were not there as I can't move an inch.
"You're mine. I don't see why after all my efforts, I walk into the room and see you flirting." Joe screams.
He does something unexpected and I can't even move. He took my first kiss. Reality has set in, this is my life now.
Here I was, hoping that my first kiss would be Lauren. I guess that is never to be now. God, I miss her and would kill to be in her arms right now.
