Dorado stayed still, frozen solid, but Everglade quickly snatched the middle of his tail--taking care to not get scratched by the barb--and yanked him to her and Waterfall. Waterfall quickly spoke up.

"Uh... Hello?" Waterfall craned her long neck, trying to catch a glimpse. A... big NightWing, perhaps? Maybe that's why I can't see them properly. "What are you doing here?"

A rumble shuddered through the dragon's throat. Was he laughing? "I've come here because this is my nest," he said. But not aggressively.

"O-oh," Dorado said nervously. "W-we'll leave, right guys?"

"Yeah..." Everglade fluttered her wings. "Yeah, we'll go!" That last part came out as a squeak.

"Oh..." Was that disappointment in the dragon's voice? "Well, then, you dragonets better go. Or you could stay?" He stepped further into the huge cave. "It is pouring outside." Now that she had a better view, Waterfall could see that the giant dragon was, to her surprise, a NightWing. In SkyWing territory? That doesn't make sense...

Waterfall glanced at her friends. "We'll stay."

Everglade and Dorado both widened their eyes, half in fear and half in surprise. Dorado quickly caught on, but Everglade still seemed bewildered. Dorado quickly agreed, and Everglade too, though she still seemed wary of the giant black dragon.

After a few hours, the sun began to shine, and Waterfall caught a pig for the big dragon, and hunted agiain and got her and her friends a big hawk to share. After their delicious meal, the four dragons said their farewells and Waterfall and her friends set off their own ways to Mud Kingdom, the Rainforest Kingdom, and the coast of the Kingdom of the sea.

Waterfall tossed and turned again that night in her hammock. She kept thinking about that NightWing in SkyWing territory. She knew that it wasn't a big deal, for the tribes were at peace now. But even if they were at peace, the NightWing should have been questioned or asked to leave. Could he have been living secretly? How could he not been caught by now? What about his own tribe? Or is he a spy? The questions kept coming and coming, and Waterfall, overwhelmed with questions, drifted off into a restless sleep, filled with nightmares of terrible shadows tearing each other apart, and in the darkness, with poor vision, even ripping their own to shreds, not knowing who they were until it was too late.
