Chapter 8: The value of August and {moana [sparkle]}
August made his way back to the base, looking for a Skrill along the way. At one point, in the distance, he spotted a storm with weird lightning. His eyes lit up as he went to go towards the storm.
And there, in the middle of it all, he saw the skrill. As he grew closer to it, it started to calm down. August flew closer to it, flying with it for a while, and leading it towards the dragon hunter base.
He flew the Skrill to the base, just realising that he is unsure on what to do with it. He made his way onto the island, skrill trailing behind. As he thought of ways to handle the skrill, he recalled the episode when Gothi hypnotised Fishlegs. And wondered if he could do the same with dragons.
He searched up on the internet, and grabbed a nearby straight stick, following the instructions. He brought the stick up to eye level with the skrill, looking deep into the skrills eyes, waving the stick around a few times, trying to make it seem harmless.
It worked, as promptly after the skrill fell down to the ground, exposing its belly.
'That was easy,' thought August in surprise.
"You would follow all my orders, and defend and attack who i tell you to. You shall protect the ones i tell you to protect. You shall have loyalty to me." August thought carefully before saying the words.
After a moment, the skrill woke up. Appearing to be a lot more docile.
"Follow me." ordered August. The skrill followed him, it followed him in the first place but who knows whether it actually worked.
He neared the base, and put his hand onto the skrill.
The hunters watched as he walked the skrill into the cave in awe. "Dont attack." August ordered the skrill. "Rest over there." August said, pointing to an area of the cage. The skrill obeyed, going over to the corner.
"Hunters! I have captured a skrill. It is now completely loyal to the hunters. Respect it, and it shall respect you."
Cheers erupted as some looked at him with admiration. The trainees were arriving soon as well. August informed the chief, and gathered them all for an attack on the singetails. He gave the order to the skrill to rest and defend the base. And told the rest of the workers to feed it.
August sent a letter to Dagur by Terror mail saying 'hey man! Sorry i couldnt say goodbye. Viggo gave me an order, but it was nice meeting you. I heard about the skrill and i am happy to say i captured one that i hunted down for you. I am not sure if its the same one, but hey! A skrill is a skrill. Ill give it to you when i see you next. May the gods favor your blade and your shield hold strong. In blood and in battle, may victory be yours!' [August ChatGPTed the last sentence, as did the author]
August and crew set off to the singetail nest August found last time, loading them onto the ship with some resistance. An arm or two were burned off but nothing August's healing magic couldn't fix.
They came back to the island, before Viggo even arrived. With the new recruits help, they managed to get them all unloaded and settled into different caves in a separate cave system, and even allowing them to be acquainted with the baby Razorwhips whom they apparently liked.
Meanwhile, with the dragon hunters a few days prior
Viggo and Ryker were talking beside the flightmare, when Ryker suddenly remembered the annoyance of a demon. "Where is Major General A? Shouldn't he be helping?" questioned Ryker.
"I sent him on a mission to capture more dragons as well as make sure our new base is ready." replied Viggo.

August sneezed. 'Is someone talking about me?'

Dagur received the Terrible Terror mail from A, and was very happy. He was annoyed when he did not see A thayt day, who just vanished, but it turns out he was sent on a mission. The fact that A also captured a Skrill for him, puts him in his good books.
