Chapter 4: Valuable Advice
That night, after discovering the wooden box full of ancient papers, Kaya returned home with a feeling of anticipation. He placed the wooden box on the small table in his room and, without waiting any longer, began to go through its contents. The ancient papers looked fragile, but each sheet seemed to radiate priceless knowledge.
Carefully, Kaya unfolded one sheet after another, reading each line with focused attention. Each paper held deep information, ranging from business strategies to the philosophy of trade. Kaya felt as though he was being guided by the great merchants of the past—those who had successfully built their wealth and influence through cleverness, hard work, and, of course, luck.
With each word he read, Kaya’s understanding of the business world grew deeper. He learned the importance of understanding the market, managing risks, and innovating at critical moments. “This knowledge is incredibly valuable,” he thought. “With this, I can achieve anything I want.”
However, among all the technical information, there was one piece of paper that stood out. It was smaller than the others, and when Kaya unfolded it, he found just one sentence written in the center. The words were simple, yet carried profound weight:
“Being wealthy is not better than being useful to many, but it is better if you are wealthy and can be useful to many.”
Kaya paused for a moment, reflecting on the meaning of those words. Until now, he had focused all his energy on pursuing wealth, doing everything in his power to escape the poverty that had trapped his family. But this sentence invited him to see a greater purpose beyond just material wealth.
“What is the point of being rich if I can’t make a positive change for others?” he wondered. “Maybe I’ve been too focused on numbers and profits, without thinking about the broader impact of my actions.”
The words from the paper echoed in his mind. Kaya began to realize that true wealth was not just about how much money you have, but how that wealth is used. “I can become rich,” he thought, “but more than that, I can become someone who makes the world a better place.”
The inspiration from that simple sentence settled deep in Kaya’s heart, transforming his perspective on success. He understood that being someone who benefits others is a form of wealth that lasts far longer. “If I can achieve wealth, I must also use that wealth to help others,” he resolved with newfound determination.
That night, Kaya couldn’t sleep. He kept thinking about how he could combine these two goals—becoming rich and being useful to others. He felt as though he had discovered a new purpose in life, something bigger than himself. “I don’t just want success for myself,” he thought. “I want my success to bring good to as many people as possible.”
The next morning, Kaya woke up with renewed energy. He returned to the bookstore and worked harder than ever. But this time, there was a larger purpose behind his actions. He began thinking about how his business could provide positive benefits to the people around him. “I need to find a way for this business to help others,” he told himself.
In the weeks that followed, Kaya started to devise plans to expand his business in ways that could benefit his community. He thought of programs he could run to help the less fortunate, such as offering education or business training to those in need. “If I can help others achieve success, then my own success will have greater meaning,” he thought.
The advice from the ancient paper became a new guiding principle for Kaya. Every step he took, every decision he made, was always guided by this principle—to not only become rich, but to also be someone who could benefit many others. “I will become wealthy,” his determination strengthened, **“and with my wealth, I will help others improve their lives.”
At the end of the day, as Kaya closed the bookstore, he glanced back at the wooden box containing the ancient papers. “This isn’t just business knowledge,” he thought with a smile on his face. **“This is a roadmap to true wealth—wealth that benefits the world.”
That night, for the first time in his life, Kaya felt that he truly understood what he wanted to achieve. And with that understanding, he knew that whatever obstacles might come, he would face them with newfound confidence. “I’m going to change the world,” he whispered to himself before finally drifting off to sleep.
