Chapter 7: The Big Decision

Kaya stood there, facing the man who had turned his life upside down just a few days ago. His heart raced, and his thoughts spun wildly. He knew this was a moment that could change everything. But with such high stakes, he had to be cautious with every move he made.

The man in front of him showed no sign of recognizing Kaya. He seemed relaxed, perhaps feeling secure in the bustling chaos of the flea market. Kaya knew he had to remain calm. Letting his emotions take over would only make him lose this opportunity.

With trembling hands, Kaya pretended to carefully inspect the vase, trying to appraise its quality like any ordinary buyer. "How much for this vase?" he asked in a voice he forced to sound steady, though his heart was pounding in his chest.

The man glanced at Kaya for a moment, perhaps sizing him up as a potential buyer. "For you, a special price. Five hundred Dollar," he said with a sly grin, as if offering the best deal in the market.

Kaya felt a wave of anxiety hit him. He only had $50 in his pocket—nowhere near enough to buy the vase. But he knew that this vase could change his fortunes. "I need to think of something," he quickly thought.

Pretending to hesitate, Kaya put the vase down and shook his head. "It's a nice vase," he said, half speaking to himself. "But unfortunately, I only have fifty dollars." He pulled out his money to show the seller that it was all he had.

The seller chuckled softly, clearly amused. "Fifty dollars? You're kidding, right? This vase is worth way more than that."

Kaya feigned disappointment, but he knew he had to play this role well. "I understand," he said quietly. "Maybe I'll look for something more within my small budget." He began to walk away, though his heart screamed for him to stay.

At that moment, an idea flashed in his mind. He stopped briefly, then turned back toward the seller. "How about we make a trade?" he suggested. "I have other items that might interest you. If you're willing, I could trade everything I have for this vase."

The seller looked intrigued, though still skeptical. "What do you have?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.

Kaya quickly pulled out small items from his pockets— a few worn pieces of jewelry, rare coins he had found, and other small valuables that might hold some worth. "This is all I have," he said, laying them out in front of the seller. "I know it’s not worth the full value of the vase, but maybe it can cover part of the price."

The seller studied the items carefully, clearly thinking it over. After a long pause, he slowly nodded. "Alright," he finally said. "I’ll take these, plus your fifty dollars. But that’s my final offer—no more bargaining."

Kaya could barely contain his relief and excitement. "Thank you," he quickly said, handing over everything he had along with the $50. He carefully took the vase, feeling as though he had just secured a treasure.

After handing over the items, Kaya wasted no time. He quickly left the market, making sure no one was paying too much attention to him. Every second felt like an eternity, but he finally made it out of the crowded streets without any problems.

When he reached a quiet spot, Kaya paused to take a deep breath of relief. He had secured the vase, and although he had given up everything he owned, he knew this was an investment worth the risk. "This is a huge step forward," he thought. "Now I just need to figure out how to make the most of it."

That evening, Kaya brought the vase home and carefully placed it on a small table in his room. He stared at it, feeling a mixture of pride, relief, and a little guilt for having traded away his precious items.

But he knew he had to keep looking forward. "This is business," Kaya thought. "Sometimes, you have to take risks to achieve something greater." With renewed determination, he decided that this vase wasn’t just a symbol of financial gain—it was also a lesson in courage, creativity, and intelligence in overcoming challenges.

Kaya knew his journey was far from over, but with this vase as his new starting point, he felt ready to face whatever came next. "I will rise from here," he said confidently. "And I won’t let myself fail again."
