Hi! I'm back! Finally done with this chapter 💪

I'm little bored these days so I'm finding new stories to read! Any recommendation 🫶?? (Preferably like DTR 😆)

"Shall we go on a date?"

Karlyle's thoughts on how to explain his morning sickness without making Ash sad are scattered. He blinks at the unexpected suggestion.

"Did you say date?"

"Yes, we haven't had a proper date together since we came to Bath."

Since they were with each other everyday, it already felt like a date. But thinking about it, they didn't really do any activities together. He kept falling asleep, and when he was awake, he only went for a quick walk or ate. Since he slept so much, he didn't have time to do anything with Ash.

"....Do you really want to go on a date with me? You must have been upset about what just happened."

"Yeah, I'm a little upset. So let's go on a date and blow off some steam, okay?"

Ash smiles as he slightly pinches his cheeks with his index fingers and thumbs. Karlyle, whose heart just dropped a few seconds ago, is instantly pulled back to the surface by his husband's smile. His lip corners also rise slightly.

"Uhm, let's go on a date."

The weather these days has been a pattern of being bright in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon. Today is no different. The bright sunlight illuminates the mansion's expansive garden, and birds fly around in the forest owned by the Marquis. It's a pleasant lunchtime, with the smell of damp soil carried by the cool breeze.

Ash suggests that they go downtown to celebrate this beautiful lunch.

"My grandfather told me not to go out.... I'm not sure if it'll be okay."

Since Karlyle has always faithfully followed his grandfather's orders, he's reluctant to go against him for his own petty pleasure. Ash thinks for a moment at his gentle reluctance, then he says.

"I want to hear your opinion, not Marquis's. If your reason for not wanting to go downtown is from yourself, I will gladly comply."

That is....

a strange way of thinking.

His grandfather's name is always connected to the family's position and existence, and it is natural to follow the head's words. It is the duty that people who were born with the surname Frost and got to enjoy privileges and conveniences must fulfill.

So, listening to the orders given is something that Karlyle is willing to do. If that satisfies his grandfather, Karlyle's also happy.

"I think it's better to follow my grandfather's order."

Clearly, he has no other answers to give. Seeing him hesitate and his confusing answer, Ash asks again.

"You don't want to go downtown?"

".....It's not that I don't like it, but I don't want to go so far as to disobey my grandfather."

"So you don't mind going to places where there are people or sightseeing, do you?"

"I don't.... really mind."

"Then let's go."

It isn't a conclusion that could have come from their previous conversation. Seeing his puzzled look, Ash smiles faintly.

"To be honest, I don't like the Marquis. He doesn't respect your wishes. Of course, I'm glad I met you thanks to him."

He doesn't particularly feel any resistance to those words. His grandfather is certainly a great man, but he isn't the type of person who would be easily liked. He is someone who doesn't hesitate to hurt or use others. So he might be uncomfortable for someone as affectionate as Ash.
