🌷Sim Jaeah. 16 years old. In highschool. The worst years of any student.
"I can't do this Yunjin!" "Mom and dad have been all over Jake because of how good his final results were." She whined to her best friend. "All he does is brag." "Don't you think he's a bit too harsh on me to be my actual brother?" Poor yunjin, always had to endure Jaeah's endless complaints about her brother.
"Maybe you're adopted, seeing that he's much better looking." The insult slipped out of her lips carelessly, but Jaeah definitely noticed. She slowly turned around to glare at her friend with a menacing expression. "What did you just say?" Yunjin smiled awkwardly while putting a spoonful of rice in her mouth, trying to ignore the tense atmosphere. "Bitch." She smacked Yunjin's head and turned to her meal. Yunjin chocked on her rice almost spitting it out. "You're just like him now." "Only one who's on my side is Jungwon."

Jaeah walked into her house with her eyes lidded, body in excruciating pain and a headache on the way. "Look who finally decided to show up to her humble abode." She rolls her eyes hearing her brothers voice. "I just walked in and you're already at it." She groaned while stomping upstairs. The summer heat was hard to beat. Jaeah was sure that her hair was a mess, that sweat was dripping down her face and that a pimple was forming on her forehead from the stress.
What she didn't see coming was Jungwon right infornt of her. "Oh Jae, your home." He smiles walking by her, pinching her cheek as he left. His melodic voice echoes in her ear. Jaeah stopped in her tracks. She gasped out. She was just complaining about how much of a wreck she was, and jungwon had to see it? She dramatically turned around to look at him. He was going down the stairs mindlessly, he wouldn't think much of it right.
Jaeah couldn't deny that she may have a slight attraction to Jungwon who's known her since childhood. Jungwon who was her brother's bestfriend. He was undeniably adorable. Jaeah couldn't find a reason not to admire him.
"That was so embarrassing." She cringed at herself as she dragged herself into her room. Throwing her bag on the floor she collapsed onto her bed. A minute didn't even pass by but Jake was already standing there to annoy here. "Mom! Jaeah still hasn't washed up!" She groaned for the nth time since seeing Jake. "Don't snitch on me idiot." She seethed through her teeth throwing a pillow at him.
He successfully caught and kicked it right back at her. "Ow!" "You hit my nose!" She shouted aggressively. Jake poked his tongue and mocked her tone. She stared to force Jake out of her room. "Aren't you too weak to push out someone so muscular?" He snickered, boasting a bit a quality he didn't have. "Muscular? You've got nothing but bones Jake." She deadpanned as the final push got him out. Locking the door she pressed her back against it sighing loudly.
Her eyes trained over her room which had become a mess. Her mock exams were ongoing and she didn't have the time to clean or even make herself look decent. Ruffling her short hair, she stood infornt of the mirror. Thoughts of Jungwon travelled into her mind. How does Jungwon even see her? What she sought to be a temporary phase has redeemed itself to be longer, something more contagious.

Jaeah hopped down the stairs to the kitchen humming a song to herself. "There's my princess." Her dad voices out pointing at her. She smiles at the name but her expression changes when Jake appeared behind her. "Then I must be your prince right dad?" Jaeah burst out laughing. "Ha! You wish." "We all know I'm the favorite child." Jaeah announces, while pulling the seat next to her brother with a smug expression.
"Jaeah before you sit could you get the cake out of the fridge." Her mom asked and she nodded, immediately following her to get it. The cake read congratulations Jake and Jungwon. Jake and Jungwon? "Actually I think Jungwon is the favorite child." She hears her mom usher. Jungwon? The mention of Jungwon send shivers up her spine, not for the fact that she wasn't the favorite child but for her appearance. Mind you, jaeah was in her bright pink pajamas with multicolored ducks printed on it. Though it accommodates comfort, it doesn't leave much room to impress your crush.
Jaeah cursed at herself once again. Turning around to face the worst. She settled the cake down and sat in her seat. Right between Jake and Jungwon. Perfect. "Start eating now!" Their mom excitedly rubbed her palms in exaggeration. The family and Jungwon who was seemingly also part of them converged in conversation with the comfort of food.
Jungwon leaned over to Jaeah's ear. "Don't be upset that I'm the favorite child, you'll always be my favorite in this family." His breath tickles her neck. She immediately covers it, feeling hot all of a sudden. "Thanks." The two engaged in eye contact. Jaeah almost getting lost in his cat like eyes. Jungwon smiled at her before breaking it off.
However Jaeah didn't stop looking at him. She stared at the smile that was still evident. The remarkable indents on his face. His eyes almost twinging shut when he laughed. She was too mesmerized by it. Her heartbeat was erratic. She was sure she'd gotten all red. It was those stupid feelings once again biting her back. It wasn't just a slight attraction, these feelings were growing stronger.
