Dear Moon

Dear Moon, love of my life, why do you weep?

Don't you already know I am yours to keep?

You question my radiance I question your light.

How come you do not recognize your own might?

You move the oceans and seas.

You inspire poems and passions.

You sway feelings in great fashion.

You put troubled hearts at ease.

People curse me because I am too bright.

They blame me for fires and avert their sight.

I sometimes feel so alone as I watch you from afar.

I admire how you beam brighter than a common star.

My sweet moon, you give my nights a purpose.

Without your nightly show, I would feel utterly lost.

In thine pale light, I can blindly place all my trust.

Without your love, I would feel empty like a carcass.

Whenever you do not feel whole, you must remember,

Your worth is not measured by what you endure in life.

A billion tests will march your way, and a million more will follow.

I will be here to hold you, to hear you, to protect your dreams like embers.

Dear Moon, let me see you.

Wipe your tears, I beseech you.

Smile for me, implore you.

Stay with me because I love you.

Forever yours, Your Sun.
