"Why the hell are we roaming this landscape? I smell nothing but sugar and depression," grunted the sassy calico tom as he trudged alongside his little sister."Because the nice RoadWalker pet Lagoon told us that there was a legion of edgy emo Sues around this area and we have to check it out and exterminate them all," his sister shot back, giving her brother a nudge.
"Hooray, an entire legion," drawled the calico tom sarcastically in his usual nasally tone. "Utter joy and fun for the whole family."
As the sun dipped behind the horizon, painting the sky in hues of crimson and violet, the twins both stumbled upon a clearing filled with strange sounds.
Exchanging glances, they approached the scene only to find a group of overly dramatic, edgy emo cats—self-styled "Mary Sues." They strutted around, their fur dyed in bizarre shades like electric blue, neon green, and pitch black.
Each one was adorned with oversized accessories: spiked collars, frayed cloaks, flamboyant collars, tattered capes, oversized bows that defied gravity, and weird eye-catching belt chains that clinked ominously with every overly confident step.
"Jackpot," Creek Shade grinned. Without even thinking, she immediately pushed the bushes and leaves aside and sauntered into the clearing bravely, her brother reluctantly trailing further behind.
The leader of the group, a black cat with bright purple hair, fallen angel wings and spiky wrist bracelets turned in surprise and sneered upon setting her gleaming, slitted red eyes upon the twins.
"Ah, look at these pathetic, common furballs come intruding into our grand territory! How quaint!" she exclaimed, her voice dripping with mockery.
"Are we supposed to know you?" Lake Shadow yawned bluntly, meeting her eye with an expressionless gaze. "We are the Nightshade Legion, and we possess powers beyond your feeble imagination!"
Creek Shade barely suppressed a snort and her older brother's left paw shot forth and quickly covered her mouth before she said something utterly offensive to the Sues, though privately he himself wanted to do so without consequences.
Their coats were an explosion of neon colours, far from the natural hues of the forest: electric blue, luminous pink, and a deep, shadowy purple. They stood in a dramatic tableau, backlit by the setting sun, striking what they believed to be heroic poses.
Lake Shadow gave an annoyed sigh and face-pawed, shaking his head. "This is ridiculous."
Another cat with glittery silver markings and an exaggeratedly sad look in her deep crimson eyes, added, "I can summon shadows that can consume the darkest of souls!" She struck a gothic pose, her cape billowing dramatically in the wind.
"Sure," Creek Shade snickered, stifling a giggle. "And I can make the sun shine on command!" She leapt into the air, trying to mimic a majestic event, but instead landed in a clumsy roll that made her brother sigh loudly.
"Behold!" proclaimed a black-furred tabby named Ravenshade, her fur adorned with iridescent glitter and spiked collar. "We are the Nightshade Legion, and we wield powers beyond your feeble mortal comprehension!"
Beside her, a wiry tom with a swirling pattern of glowing green and black named Shadowdagger flicked his tail dismissively. "With the power of Emotion Manipulation, I can make you feel despair with just a glance!"
Each cat took turns boasting, unleashing a dramatic display of their so-called powers. One flicked a paw, creating shafts of shifting light that danced eerily, while another conjured a cloud of purple mist, claiming it was the essence of their angst.
