{Mary Sue Type: Sympathetic/Jerk Sue}

In the dense canopy of Ashen Cradle territory, the breeze whispered secrets between the trees. Beneath this tranquil facade, however, two male cryptids plotted their mission, their wings glimmering subtly against the dappled sunlight.Amber Fang, a cream and white-furred beauty with wings vaguely resembling flames, and Lake Shadow, a sleek calico rarity with a silver speckled plumage, were there on their daily mission; eradicate unrecoverable Mary Sues from the universe.
This particular target was none other than the insufferably perfect Awesomeblaze, a tom-cat revered by all of Ashen Cradle. While the beauty of his moonlit coat and the supposed sorrow behind his cobalt eyes held an unnatural allure, Amber Fang and Lake Shadow knew better.
They had encountered too many poorly penned characters like him before—flawlessly handsome, with a tragic backstory crafted from clichés and devoid of any real substance.
The Ashen Cradle adored him for reasons the two couldn't comprehend in the slightest, and tales of his "tragic past" told of how he had been unjustly cast away, only to rise as a "flawless" hero who could manipulate the very shadows around him as a formidable warrior and a heartthrob.
His nonsensical name was as ridiculous as his reputation, and yet, he was adored by every cat in the clan, whose every whim was met with admiration and awe.
"Can you believe it?" Amber Fang scoffed, his seafoam green eyes glinting with mischief. "Apparently he won the last battle single-pawedly and didn't even break a sweat! What kind of warrior falls into a dirty churning river and comes out looking like a model?"
Lake Shadow chuckled softly, though his eyes narrowed with determination. "We must remember our mission, dear. The longer he stays, the more the story bends around him—his glorified escapades overshadowing the hard-fought victories of others."
Amber Fang made a noise of annoyance. "Why is it always the most annoying ones, aka the perfect ones, are usually the ones that cause so much trouble?"
Lake Shadow shrugged and responded back in his nasally rumble, "I can't wait to dance and stomp on his ego till it's gone flat."
Their strategy was simple yet daring; they would infiltrate his inner circle while disguised as ordinary warriors, gaining intel and planning the execution of their mission.
Amber Fang threw a quick glance around to ensure no one was watching before leading the way, his wings folded tightly against his back to conceal their mystical-like imprint, an anomaly in this world.
"Stay close," he whispered. "We need to blend in."
As they approached the clearing where the clan often gathered, they adopted the demeanour of loyal warriors instead of the beings of legends and fables they truly were.
With an exaggerated hearty laugh, Lake Shadow strolled beside his more outgoing mate, drawing in the attention of nearby cats who looked on with curiosity.
"So, what's going on around tonight?" He purred in his nasally mew. "Another victory for Ashen Cradle's one and only, the almighty Awesomeblaze!" a brainwashed Cradle cat exclaimed, practically swooning.
The others nodded fervently, sharing stories of his latest exploits—a supposed rescue of kits trapped in a bramble bush where he had emerged unscathed, his fur so pristine it looked like it had been washed by the stars themselves.
Lake Shadow had to try his hardest to not make his face contort into the subtitles of his thoughts when another practically swooned that Awesomeblaze had heroically fought off five badgers at once and had escaped completely unscathed.
