Kim Minjeong is the campus Pride flag.

Respectfully, of course- with her rainbow socks and denim shorts, she practically screams "I'm a lesbian!" It's a cute style, anyhow, what with the amount of girls that ask her out per month. However, she stays single somehow, single-mindedly devoted to someone she hasn't seen in quite a while. No one really knows who this girl is, maybe a figment of Minjeong's imagination- but real or fake, Minjeong is completely in love with her.

Which is why all of her friends are a little in disbelief when Minjeong asks them to drive with her to pick up her girlfriend at the airport.

Mostly because she won't show them who her girlfriend is, what she looks like, what she likes to wear, or even where she's flying out of- not specifically, anyway. She just says that her girlfriend is flying out of South Korea, where Minjeong is originally from, to New York City, where Minjeong lives now.

So they can't even stalk her.

"Do we really think this girl is real?" Jinsung wonders. He, Aeri, Yizhuo, Yunjin, Chaewon, and Somi all sit in the campus cafe, pondering over the idea of whether or not Minjeong's girlfriend- who, according to her, is "so beautiful she could be a supermodel"- actually exists.

"Min seems really devoted to her," Chaewon, Minjeong's older sister, says. "I mean, she's always talking about how excited she is for her girlfriend to come here. But, you know, she says they're long distance, so she's a little secretive about it."

"True," Yizhuo agrees. Yizhuo is Minjeong's best friend and currently working at in internship in New York, all the way from Harbin, China. "She never says anything."

"Yeah, so she might not be real," Aeri thinks. "She could be, y'know... one of those fake Webtoon girlfriends... or like an idol or something that's visiting here..."

"'Webtoon girlfriends?'" Yunjin snorts, making air quotes around the two words. Although Yunjin is full Korean, she was born and raised in New York, making her the most comfortable with the city- and with NYU (New York University) where all students currently attend. "Are you sure you know what you're talking about, Aeri?"

Chaewon laughs.

(Although Yunjin and Minjeong are the same age, Minjeong's older sister definitely has a thing for her little sister's good friend.)

"I mean," Aeri defends, "that it could be one of those things where she gets a fake girlfriend to stop everyone on campus from asking her out."

Yizhuo tuts. "She's too much of a sweetie to do that."

Aeri nods after a few moments of disgruntled deliberation, unable to disagree. "Yeah, she really is."

Jinsung slams his hands on the table, making everyone jump and Somi snort coffee. "Guys! C'mon! We have to figure this out."

Somi flips him off, wiping coffee from her face. "Can't we just figure it out at the airport?"

"Yes, but..." Jinsung trails off. "I just wanna be prepared!"

Yunjin rolls her eyes dramatically. "Jinsung, everyone knows you've been crushing on Minjeong for almost a year now. It's enough. She's gay, dude. She's not gonna like you back."

Chaewon's eyebrows shoot into her sharply cut bangs. "Who has a what on my little sister? Jang Jinsung? Care to elaborate?"

Jinsung stammers, waving his hands. "I- uh- I don't! And that's off topic!"

The friend group dissolves into miniature squabbles, completely forgetting about the task at hand.
