Chapter 3

NINA

I walked downstairs to the living room; I could've gone to my room for privacy but I didn't care, I just sense something was going to happen so I wanted to be ready, also I wanted to talk to Liz. Liz has been my one and only true friend in school, and she knows about me and so yeah, her keeping it a secret is a very big deal.

"Liz talking" she answered

"Liz I need your help"

"Um..., Nina I am kind of busy right now"

"What are you doing that you can't come and aid your best friend?" sounding very hurt. "It's Jake isn't it, he asked you out didn't he, and so you're trying to hide it from me, huh?"

"What is up with you and boys? And Jake's picking up his aunt Millstone from the airport, and I have things to do"

"Soon he'll be saying he needs time with his aunt"

"What does it matter with you?"

"Liz I am begging you"

"And I'm asking you to understand me, I've been there when you needed me, now am asking you to support me" she said almost yelling, I've never heard her so upset.

Liz has always been there for me. Now Liz needs me and I am going to make things right (unlike my brother, who waited for a whole month, idiot if I may add)

"Liz I am sorry for been selfish, I'll make it up to you, I promise"

"Don't even bother, I gotta go Nina" she hunged up

Now there's two options here, one, I either go to my friend's aid as she has for me and disrespect my mother's rule or on the other hand I stay here and feel guilty for two things that I've done, ALL IN ONE DAY!!!

That's a record...; this day seemed to be going fine so far....

'That's it, I've done something wrong and am gonna fix it, even though it lands me into trouble'

"That's not a good idea" Zach said from behind me

'Okay that's it, the sneaking up behind me and reading my thoughts without me noticing is done, am tired of it, and it's starting to give me the creeps!!!!'

"Okay Zach Eli Rockwell, I am tired of you reading my mind"

"I know, I heard you"

"Well you better stop it"

"No way, it's fun"

"Only to you, look just stop reading my mind and look for other minds to listen to, okay??"

"I'll try, but you think of insane things, which I admire" he said grinning

"Shouldn't we have the same powers??"

"I don't know Nina"

"How do you do it, you know, keep it under control"

"That's my secret to keep; I might share it with you one of these days"

"Would one of these days include you telling what you hear?"

"Maybe" he said smiling

One of these days, He doesn't trust me? That hurts my one and only brother keeps secrets from me. 

Which I usually don't care about but since he got his powers he doesn't give people privacy, especially me. Which I wouldn't mind if he does it at training.

"What do you exactly mean when you say one of these days?" I asked him, but he just shrugged, like 'you just have to wait and see'

"Now about the going out, you know you can't" Zach said
