Chapter 12

Zach

The day has been chaotic, Nina's mad at me for interrupting her and Sky, but it was that or reveal everything else I've kept from her. 

As much as I hate keeping secrets from her, I do it to protect her and I wasn't lying about the meeting with Hazel.

Hazel intrigues me so much I don't know why, he has powers am sure of it but was he keeping other secrets from us? 

There was only way to test it and that would be when we have the meeting.  if my suspicions are right, then we are in great danger.

"What is it" Scarlett asked

She entered my room with swift gesture towards me, I gave her a smile which seemed forced, but I can't help remembering her wings and hair looking all magical yeah, that's the word.

"Nothing" I lied, but knowing she's an angel I am sure she knows i'm lying but am glad she didn't ask me why.

"Well get up your lazy butt and start moving, you look pale..., have you eaten since yesterday night?" Scarlett asked

"No not really, I was worrying about Nina" I said truthfully.

"Well stop worrying, c'mon" she said quite impatiently

I caught her hand and pulled her towards me, I was planning to spin her around and kiss her before we left but it went wrong, she fell on me and I fell on the bed with a soft thud. 

I must have looked shocked because Scarlett started laughing really hard, I couldn't help but feel embarrassed but I laughed with her, it helped me forget my worries. 

Scarlett indeed makes me happy, i'm glad she's mine.

"I love you" I told her

"I love you too" she replied with a smile on her face, she leaned to give a passionate kiss which I gratefully returned before she got up and waited for me to get ready.

I changed quickly and we walked out hand in hand. 

We went to the dining hall to be greeted with a cheer the others congratulated me for leading them and saying it was the best time they ever had and wished they could fight more monsters.

I was amazed, I actually helped people and after break-fast was served it was noon, time went by fast, guess the saying was right, time flies when you're having fun. 

We all got ready to meet Hazel at the field.

Hazel was standing there with a business suit; he looked prepared to give a speech to a nation, not to a bunch of teenagers.

"Good Afternoon my children" he greeted.

I didn't like him calling me his child. 

I am not his child only his nephew and nothing more. 

I put my fingers on my temples and concentrated, I got sucked into his mind.., images flying pass me, it all looked so beautiful..., I finally reached to what he was thinking..., I saw myself, Nina, Sky, Scarlett, Max, Jim, Marble and Kate at this facility to collect some item...., and just like that am back in the real world, I was blocked from seeing any further, Hazel was saying that he was impress with us for killing the beast.

"You all did well, I plead with Nina to accept my sympathy and hope she gets better" Hazel said

"Am fine Hazel" Nina said bluntly, she wasn't really in the mood either, am guessing..., she's been blocking me from reading her mind.

"Good to hear, my dear children I am glad to say you are all qualified and are all well trained to participate in this mission am about to give you all" he paused to let his information settle in. "This mission requires trust, teamwork and using your brains and powers"

There was an exciting uproar coming from the others, I couldn't help but smile.

"The beast you fought had an accomplice who found and stole an important artifact and in order to save any other supernatural, I need you to retrieve it. As for the other super naturals that will remain here, will get ready to set off to another location in Australia" Hazel paused once more

"The chosen eight will be Zach, Nina, Sky, Marble, Max, Jim, Scarlett and Kate, I advise you start packing and meet me back here at sharp 2:30PM, you're all dismissed" Hazel said and started walking to the building.

I don't know what to say, it was a great honor and an otter shock, but if what Hazel said was true then we had to pack, and fast. 

Scarlett and I rushed back in and went our ways, there was a back-pack on the bed, so I used it, I picked out three tops (colors dark blue, black and white) and one trouser with two shorts..., am I not organized? I threw them in the bag and wore my sneakers and left the room to find Scarlett.

She was getting out when I met her, so we just walked off together, we stopped at Nina and Sky's room to see if they were done and we caught them red handed smooching..., I cleared my throat and they stopped and smiled at each other and they took their bags and stared at us.

"Well are we just going to stand here or are we leaving?" Nina asked bluntly

"We're leaving" I replied

'Once again know it all, you've ruined my moment with Sky"

'I know..., am sorry, I didn't mean to'

'Humph, you never do'

We walked back to see Jim, Kate, Max and Marble there waiting for us with their bags in their hands.

"Good for you to join us" Jim said in a ludicrous voice

"Well, gadgets will be ready with Mr. Nick and you shall be on your way soon, so listen carefully, you will first take the plane to Scotland and then from there you'll investigate and locate the base of the Madison's. Separate into teams and do your part according to the leaders choice" Hazel said in a tremulous voice.

He clapped his hands together and gave a big smile almost trying to encourage us but we all knew this mission was very important and if we fail then we might yet just kill our self and get it over with.

"Well, let the forces be with you my children" Hazel said with sad eyes

Nina and Sky hugged and I grabbed for Scarlett to know if she was still beside me. She was, I looked at her and smiled, she squeezed my hand in response. It was time, the tension was all around. You couldn't slice it with a knife even if you wanted to.

'Know it all' Nina taught to me

'Yeah'

'We'll be fine in this journey right?'

'Sure, why not' I replied ending the conversation

Hazel led us through the building to Nick, he stood with his back, when he turned he had a smirk on his lips.

"Ahh, my students are fit for war..., yes..., yes" he said mostly to himself "Here choose your weapon, it wouldn't hurt to carry one with you always"

I found him crazy sometimes, always talking to himself, if not then he'll be talking with the weapons..., like they could talk, hula-hula..., this place could make someone mad if they didn't have company.

I took the sword I always used and saw Scarlett take her bow and then put silver arrows behind her back, when she was done I took her hand and kissed her before we joined the others at the doorway that was meant to take us out to the outside world.
