Chapter 10
A cloak slowly appeared in an alleyway. "Looks like that is it; the energy has run out." Felix appeared from within the cloak. He opened the front, and Trever fell out. "What the hell just happened?" Felix looked around as he took off the mantle and put it in his bag. We need to move; Trever, I have questions," Felix said, worried. He told Trever to follow him.
Trever complains and wants answers; he is mad that the other nobles laughed at him. Felix apologizes and says he will make it up to him; first, they must find a safe place. Trever follows Felix, complaining along the way.
King Isaac excused himself and told Princess Sophie he would meet with his warrior Lancelot. Sophie was upset and ignored him, so King Isaac left the royal seats. He made his way to a room where guards stood watch. They saw King Isaac and saluted him, so King Isaac entered the room.
Lancelot was sitting down, still wearing the complete set of armor. "So, how did it go?" King Isaac sits on a couch. Lancelot looks over to him, "He sure is.... Different." "Not what you were expecting." "You promised me a chance to defeat him and prove I am better, but this was laughable; not even worthy of me."
King Isaac assures him he can still fight Felix, "When the guards come back, you can mock and beat him all you want. There is nothing he can do." The guards arrive and inform them Felix is gone. Lancelot laughs, "Your guards couldn't do anything; he is gone." King Isaac smirked, "No matter. I can find him and bring him to you." Lancelot demanded he do so. "Watch your tongue. Who do you think you are speaking to!"
Lancelot apologizes. King Isaac gets up and is about to leave. "Are you coming to the party later tonight?" "I'll think about it," Lancelot says, upset. King Isaac opens the door; he steps out and turns around. Before I go, make sure no one wins, okay?" Lancelot waves and King Isaac closes the door.
King Isaac returns to the balcony with the rest of the royals. Princess Sophie looks better; she asks him where he went. Isaac tells her he was talking with Lancelot; he wants to know if the fight is too easy. "I told him there would be great fighters; that fight disappointed him. I tried to cheer him up."
Sophie told him he was too great a fighter. Isaac said he should have made him a special surprise fighter towards the end. They laughed, and Sophie agreed; they continued watching the tournament. The crowd was still very energetic and continued cheering.
Felix goes back to Emma's inn. "What kind of poor establishment is this? Where are we," Trever said mockingly. Felix told him to get in, "We'll talk inside." Felix took Trever to the bar; Emma came and saw them. She greets them; Trever likes what he sees, "Well hello, I am Lord Trever...." "Not now; can we get some alcohol here, please."
Emma laughs, and she goes to the back. Trever gets upset for him ruining his meeting. "Trever, listen, I need you to tell me a few things." Trever doesn't want to; he tells Felix to introduce him to Emma. Emma returned with two glasses of beer; she placed them in front of them, "Enjoy."
Trever looks at her with lustful eyes. He takes a drink from his glass. "Trever is sometimes hard to deal with, so I need him to drink to loosen him up. Scrappy, I need something!" Trever looks at him, "Don't call me that; I am no longer that boy!" "All right, do you know who that Lancelot guy is?"
Trever finishes his glass; Felix gives him his. He calls Emma for more. Trever drinks and tells him what he knows. Trever starts by saying that no one knows what he looks like except those close to King Issac. He also told him that Lancelot became famous after the war, "I heard he was a regular soldier and rose the ranks."
Trever drank some more, and Felix asked him about the sword. Trever said the church gave him the sword. "Funny story: King Isaac was the one to ask for it, and the church declined. They told him he was unworthy, but then Lancelot showed up and took it; he just took it. They couldn't do anything and just let him have it."
