The portal was closing faster as Antonia cried in Steve's arms. She couldn't bear looking at the sky. Her father was lost to them all, and she would never be able to tell him that she loved him again.
Cap had lowered his head and focused on the shaking girl in his arms before seeing a small figure hurled backward into the open, now closed portal, Iron Man plummeting toward the earth. He squinted at the sky, trying to make sure he wasn't imagining anything.
Right as the portal closed, Iron Man was falling towards the ground. The whole team watched as he fell. All except Antonia, who was still crying, thinking about the loss of her father.
"Son of a gun!" Captain America stated with a smile as he watched. He then shook Antonia. "Antonia, you can look now," he told her softly.
She shook her head, still clinging to him.
"I promise, you can look now."
She hesitantly let her grip soften and blinked away the tears before looking into Steve's eyes to see if there was any hint of a lie in them.
He stared down at her too, sad that the girl was crying but happy that the reason she was crying was not definite. He swiped a stray tear from her cheek, and he smiled at her softly as she leaned into his touch.
"Look up," he whispered.
Sure enough, her father was falling. Her eyes widened as she looked at her father falling, still in Captain America's arms. She smiled and then smiled at Steve before turning back to smile at her father's falling figure. Her mood then dampened as she saw how fast he was falling.
"He's not slowing down," Thor stated before he started swinging Mjolnir, but before he could start flying, Hulk leaped into the air and caught Tony while sliding down a building. He then jumped off the building and landed on a car as he shielded Tony from the impact, throwing him off of him once they landed.
The rest of the crew ran towards them in a hurry.
"DADDY!" Antonia ran, yelling right behind Thor.
Thor then ripped Tony's helmet off, and Captain put his ear towards his chest.
"Daddy?" Antonia stopped when she saw him lying almost lifeless. "No, not again," she started tearing up before she started hugging him. "You can't die on me, old man. You didn't get to walk me down the aisle of the Louis Vuitton store in Italy like you promised!"
The others just looked at her crazily.
"You haven't even balded yet," she kept crying to him. "I need to experience bald girl dad before you leave me."
Antonia kept amazing the rest of the Avengers. They had never seen anyone act like her, almost as if she was a new species. Even the Hulk looked at her funnily.
She kept crying into his chest. Hulk didn't know what to do. He didn't know how to feel. Maybe he should feel bad for the girl. So Hulk did the only thing he could think of doing.
Hulk roared.
Tony woke in shock, causing Hulk to roar with pride.
"What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me," Tony said frantically as he held his daughter, who had clearly been hugging him.
"YOU'RE ALIVE!!!" Antonia had yet to let go. She was going to cling to him if it was the last thing she did.
"I would hope so," he said with a smile.
"Please never do that again," Antonia said as she hugged him closer. "I didn't know if you've updated your will to include me or not."
"I almost died," Tony stated with disbelief.
