"How do you feel?" Haein's voice cut through the quiet as he looked at Soohyun, who had just stirred awake. There was an unspoken weight in the air between them—Haein wasn't the type to make casual visits.

Soohyun frowned, catching onto the shift in atmosphere. "Why are you here?" His voice was sharp, his gaze narrowing at the sight of his friend, who was far too casual, sipping coffee like this was a routine hospital checkup.

"Visiting you, idiot," Haein responded with a slight roll of his eyes, the humor in his voice barely masking the tension beneath. Soohyun allowed a chuckle to escape, but the warmth in his expression quickly faded as he studied his friend more closely.

"Oh, Jung Haein... I know you well enough by now. You don't show up unless it's urgent." Soohyun's tone dropped, knowing Haein wouldn't waste time dancing around the subject.

Haein smirked, leaning forward slightly. "Someone's been using our hacking system."

A frown creased Soohyun's brow. That wasn't unusual—after all, they hacked regularly as part of their operations. "And?" he asked, still not seeing the urgency.

"It's coming from your house." The words hung in the air like a loaded weapon. Soohyun's breath hitched. His house? No one was allowed near the basement. Only one person had access to that room...

His wife.

Haein's smirk widened, as if enjoying Soohyun's moment of realization. "The kids told me Jiwon asked about her past. They shared a few things, and now... well, let's just say she's preparing for her throne."

Soohyun remained silent, the weight of Haein's words sinking in. It was only a matter of time before she pieced everything together.

"She's going to remember it all sooner or later," Haein added, leaning back with a knowing look. "Do you really think she'll stay passive after everything that's happened to you?"

The truth hit Soohyun hard. His wife wasn't one to sit idly by, and now she was on a path he couldn't fully predict. Still, Soohyun's mind raced with strategies, always one step ahead.

"Orders, King?" Haein's smirk deepened, knowing full well Soohyun already had a dozen plans in motion. He had known Soohyun long enough to see how his mind worked—always with contingencies, always prepared.

"For now, double the protection around the Queen. I don't want anything happening to her. Not a single misstep." The authority in Soohyun's voice left no room for doubt.

Haein nodded, his smile never fading. Soohyun's devotion to Jiwon was something to behold. "Also, bring my suit. I've rested long enough."

With a slight bow, Haein left, leaving Soohyun to his thoughts.

...

Jiwon sat in the dim glow of the computer screen, her fingers flying across the keyboard with precision and speed. The soft hum of the hacking system in her home office filled the air, an eerie backdrop to the intense concentration etched on her face. The quiet of the night had deepened around her, casting long shadows across the room, but she didn't notice. Her focus was razor-sharp, her gaze fixed on the string of encrypted files and code flashing on the screen.

It was already past two in the morning, and fatigue should have set in by now. But Jiwon felt nothing except a burning drive, an unstoppable need to unearth every last detail about Lee Jaewon. She had been at this for hours, piecing together fragmented information, pulling data from hidden corners of the web that even the most skilled hackers would overlook. As the minutes ticked by, her mind became sharper, more alert.
