Season 1, Episode 6

"You kissed Olivia?" Monse angrily asked. Cesar's expression softened as he looked down. "Damn," Jasmine said.

"It is true?" Ruby yelled as he got up, Monse stared at him, waiting for a response. "Yeah," Cesar replied. He looked at them.

"You know they boning, right?" Jasmine said

"Wait, is he the guy?" Olivia questioned. Monse turned to look at her, "This isn't about me. It's about "this isn't about me. It's about Ruby, he's in love with Olivia," Monse said out of the blue.

"What-" Ruby stuttered before Jamal interrupted him. "Can we just all take a moment to appreciate the fact that, for once, I was able to keep a secret," he happily said.

"You knew?" All of them except Leslie said. She listened as they started to argue with each other, and she placed her head in her hands. Trying to ignore them as it gave her a headache.

"Y'all messed up!" Oscar randomly popped up out of nowhere. Leslie lifted her head a little, enough to see Oscar.

He took a few steps forward and looked at Cesar, "we got business," he said as he turned off his phone. "What about the lockdown?" Cesar asked.

Oscar looked back at us before looking back at him, "it's done," he responded, walking passed him. Cesar followed but not without looking at Monse.

Jasmine got up from her seat, placing her hand on the top of the chair. "And y'all wanted to kill me,"

Leslie rolled her eyes, "shame," she shook her head. Monse pushed past her, walking out from the back. "Bitch, that's my cue!" She said as she walked away.

Olivia also got up and walked away, Leslie knew that was her cue to leave. She pushed her chair back and walked away, opening the door and going outside.

She didn't live that far from Ruby's, so she walked home.

Leslie was surprised to see Jamal was playing, even her mom. "Jamal's playing?" Lillian asked.

"I guess," Leslie shrugged. She sat a little far from the group, wishing she could sit with them. But her mom wanted to go because her cousin was also playing football.

She saw Jamal's mom kept yelling 'Put in 22' which was his number, she saw how he said something to the coach, but anyway, Leslie wasn't surprised that he wasn't put in.

He probably just begged to be put in the game so his parents wouldn't know that he wasn't playing football.

The whistle blew and everyone started booing, "I hate football, they call stupid shit for no reason," her mom said angrily.

"I don't know anything about football so I don't care," Leslie spoke. She looked at the others who were two rows away from her, they seemed like they were pissed.

I mean yeah, all that drama at Ruby's house was probably why they looked so mad. All of a sudden, everyone rose from their seat. Leslie saw how the teams were fighting, well just like pushing.

"Yeah, fight!" Lillian yelled, clapping at the same time. Leslie kept sitting as the referee blew the whistle, obviously trying to stop the little fight that was going on.

The whole lineup was then pulled out and the coach picked all of the other teammates, except Jamal. Leslie was hoping she could see Jamal get in and mess up in front of his parents.

And guess what, he got in. Leslie chuckled softly, she placed her arms over her chest as the game started. One of the guys tackled the guy who was holding the ball, and he threw it in the air.

Jamal grabbed it, looked around, and ran towards the goal. Leslie turned her head to the side as she watched everyone cheer for Jamal.

The other team was chasing after him, she thought it was pretty funny, not gonna lie. "Jamal yes, go Jamal!" her mom screamed.

He made it to the goal! Leslie's eyes widened and her mouth was wide open. Everyone started cheering for him, Jamal did a little dance move that was stupid.

Then everyone started chanting 'All fall down' which she didn't know what that meant, she was dumb. It probably meant that he got to push everyone down because Jamal did it to his 'team'

Leslie observed Monse and Cesar having a conversation while her mom went to the bathroom. As she waited outside, she turned away from them, minding her own business.

When her mom came out, she appeared frozen. Confused, Leslie followed her mom's gaze and saw her staring at Oscar. Turning to her mom, Leslie asked, "Why are you staring at Oscar?" Her tone conveyed both confusion and concern. Lillian quickly shook her head and forced a smile.

"It's nothing, baby. Let's just go to the car, okay?" Lillian took Leslie's hand and led her away. Still puzzled by her mom's reaction, Leslie nodded and glanced back at Oscar.

Once they reached the car, Lillian took the driver's seat and Leslie settled in the passenger seat, fastening her seatbelt. After Lillian started the engine, Leslie rested her head against the car window and closed her eyes, feeling the car begin to move.

She sighed and opened her eyes. "Why didn't Owen and Levi come?" Leslie inquired. Her mom briefly looked at her before returning her attention to the road.

"They had a soccer game. Your game was canceled, by the way," Lillian replied. Nodding, Leslie gazed out the window. "Who took them?" Leslie asked, already anticipating the answer.

"Your dad," she responded. Leslie rolled her eyes and looked at her mom. "He's not my dad; he's my stepdad," she corrected. Lillian sighed, her expression softening.

"Leslie, look-" she began, but Leslie cut her off. "He abuses us, but he doesn't do anything to my brothers? Just me?" she snapped.

"I didn't have a dad growing up, but my brothers did, for like two years, but I'm not going to call him my dad. It's probably my fault he left," she continued.

Lillian pulled over in a store parking lot, muttering to herself. "Leslie, it wasn't your fault he left. Your dad didn't even know I was pregnant with you," she shared.

"What do you mean?" Leslie asked.

"He left before I was able to tell him, but your dad wasn't ready to be a dad either way. He didn't leave because of you. Don't ever blame yourself, alright?" Lillian confessed.

"Can you tell me who he was?" Leslie wondered. Lillian sighed and looked down. "I can't," she replied.

Observing how Leslie wouldn't meet her gaze, Lillian teared up, understanding that Leslie was upset because she simply wanted a dad to grow up with.

"I love you, Dessie. I always have. You're my only daughter, and you behave better than your brothers," Lillian sniffled. She put her hand on Leslie's shoulder and rubbed it.

"I love you too," Leslie said, looking up at her. Lillian drew her closer and rested her head against hers.
