He was pacing back in forth in front of his fireplace. He didn't understand why he had this shit on but didn't bother to turn it off either.

How the fuck could she just up and leave him like that? Looking over that the divorce papers on the table, he refused to sign them.

She belonged to him and only him. Why would she go back to life that she hated? He gave her anything that she wanted and more. She was his trophy wife. He did better with her around.

He understood at times that he could be overbearing and controlling but it came with good intentions. She was hardheaded and needed to be put in her place.

Rayne was the most beautiful woman that he had laid eyes on. Nobody compared to her. She was authentic but he noticed the change over the years. Made her into the exact woman that he wanted.

"What's the urgency Chris?" His good friend Ralph came in asking.

"She's been gone too long. She needs to come back home. Back to me." He said.

Ralph watched as his friend paced back and forth. He knew him since they were in grade school. He was his best friend. He never understood though, why Rayne chose him.

She was an intelligent woman. Could be a little naive at times. She was fucking gorgeous. Looked better than any woman that he'd been with.

A part of him was glad that she got away. He didn't deserve a woman like her. She was too good for him.

He watched him belittle her more than he could count on both hands and that always pissed him off. How could he treat someone who was so good to him, like shit?

Ralph could remember sticking up for her a lot but he knew that if he had went too far, he would lose everything that he worked for and he couldn't have that. He stopped speaking up but always felt bad.

"Did you ever stop to think that this could be for the better?" Ralph asked.

Chris stopped pacing and looked at him. What the fuck was he talking about? How could he even ask him that? Better yet,  whose side was he on?

"What the fuck did you just say to me?" He asked.

"I just asked a simple question. Watch your tone with me Chris. I'm just trying to help."

"Watch my tone with you? Did you forget who the fuck you were talking to?Everything you have, can be taken from you. Don't forget that."

Ralph looked at him like he was crazy. He would go there?

"You talking to me like im not on your side. Like im not your friend. You would do something to jeopardize my job? That's not crazy? We supposed to be boys."

Chris looked at him and shook his head.

"My bad. I didn't mean that. I'm just stressed the fuck out."

"I get it but don't come at me crazy because of it. I'm innocent."

He couldn't respond to that. He knew it was bad on his pat to talk to his friend crazy but he was saying stupid shit.

Chris was now staring at his pregnant mistress. He didn't know whether she should've called a mistress anymore because of Rayne wanting the divorce. Then again, what did it matter?

"What?" She asked.

"Just realizing how big our boy is getting in there."

She looked down, rubbing her stomach. She was overwhelmed with joy that she was the one to have his first child. She couldn't believe that he fell for this married man.

He was living the life that she always wanted to be apart of and now that his wife was out of t he picture, she could step into that role.

It didn't seem like Chris was too happy about her being gone though. What did he see in her? She couldn't deny that his wife was drop dead gorgeous. His chocolate goddess. Pure and innocent. A yes sir type of bitch.

She was jealous of her indeed. She knew that her beauty couldn't compare to hers. It was like they were in comparison but she didn't know.

"Have you been thinking of names?" She asked.

He shrugged. "I did want him to be a junior but now I don't think so. I like Julian or Julez."

"I like those too. I was thinking Brandon, Justin or Mario."

"Mario huh? I like that one too."

She was 7 months now and she felt like she would pop at any minute. She was peeing every second and felt like she ate everything.

Her boobs grew about 3 sizes which she wasn't too mad about. She barely had any in the first place.

"Can I ask you something? I don't want to be too personal." She said before sitting down.

"Okay." He was curious to where this was going.

"What is going to happen once he gets here? About your wife?"

"What about her? What does what we have going on have to do with her? She up and left so what the fuck does she care?"

He was confused on why she was bringing his wife up. It was said between them not to speak on her.

Taken aback by his tone,h she just stayed quiet. Why did she ask him that?

"I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sorry." She said.

He sighed and looked over at her. She was so beautiful to him. She didn't have anything on Rayne but she was up there.

He remembered the first time he laid eyes on her. She had a beautiful smile. Her laugh was intoxicating. It just drew you in.
They were in too deep when he had confessed to her that he was married.

He didn't want to let that be the downfall of what they had going on. He was wrapped up in her and didn't see himself walking away anytime soon.

He was his true authentic self with her. He didn't feel the need to be controlling. He didn't need to raise his voice. She was his peace.

How could he ay that though when Rayne loved him unconditionally? He hated hisself at times for the way he treated her but why did things have to be so difficult? Why couldn't she get things right the first time?

"Let's it worry about things that don't matter. Focus on our son coming into this world healthy. I'm ready."

"Me too."
