Rayne was out of her element. She was standing in the museum. Out in the open by herself. Since she returned, she never left the house without anybody.
She wanted to regain her sense of purpose. Her sense of freedom. Her sense of awareness even though ever since being with that man, it's been heightened.
Feeling a hole being burned into the back of her head, she turned around with annoyance. Who was staring at her so hard?
There stood Zahir. He couldn't understand why he was locked in on her presence. This shit was starting to piss him off. She didn't look too happy to see him and that pissed him off even more.
He didn't know if he wanted to approach her or just stay where he was. This art museum was his favorite to go to. His cousin had a few pieces in here and everybody's work was uniquely appealing to him.
His haven if you may.
The last time he saw her was a month ago at the club and they didn't say two words to each other. Not that it really bothered him.
Turning around fast, Rayne walked down the hallway. Blowing out a breath, she ended up stopping at a painting of an older black woman. In the picture there are pictures of her younger self leading to when she was a baby intertwined all over.
Explaining it out loud would sound crazy. It's jut something that you have to see in person. It was different. She liked it. Standing back, she took a picture smiling.
This, she'll add to her little dump.
"Beautiful isn't it?" She heard come from behind her.
Hesitating, she turned around slowly.
"So we're speaking."
"Isn't that what we're doing."
She rolled her eyes and walked down to the next painting.
He was slow to follow. What was with him? He didn't want anything to do with her but now he wanted to be in her space bad.
It was a feeling that he couldn't explain. Shit was very confusing. It didn't make sense. He scrunched his face up. He was irritated with himself.
"I love the way that pink goes with your skin tone. It's beautiful." He heard some nigga say from in front of him.
She smiled. "Thank you."
"What the fuck was this?" Zahir thought.
He put his braids into a ponytail and leaned against the wall. He wanted to know where this was going. Was she going to entertain him? Give him the time of day when he was standing right there?
"That shit was corny as fuck, the way he approached her."
His phone started vibrating in his pocket. Pulling it out, Rah was calling him.
"Wassup?"
"I ain't hear from you in a minute nigga. Where you been at? Got me sounding like one of your bitches on the phone." Rah said before sighing.
Zahir chuckled. Leave it to this nigga to be dramatic.
"What you want fool?"
"I definitely wanted to talk business with you. I need your opinion on something. Anyway, long shot, you seen or heard from Ray?"
"Looking at her right now."
"Que?"
"Stupid. We're at Pierre's."
"Like together type shit? Or?"
"Coincidence. Wassup?"
What was with all the questions? Zahir thought.
