Xiao Hua
When Xiazi had told him that Zhang Qiling had asked him to train Wu Xie in the next six months, Xiao Hua had laughed a little, thinking that he was joking with him, but when Xiazi simply sighed in true resignation, Xiao Hua knew that he was actually being serious. Was that a good thing? Oh yes, because everyone who knew Wu Xie knew that the young man needed training.
However, six months of training meant six months of Xiazi's absence from his life and although Xiao Hua understood the need and accepted the suggestion, there was nothing wrong with him offering Wu Xie his house to train at least for the first month, which consisted mainly of learning the basic movements and exercises. He was not interfering with the training, but on the contrary, he could offer his own experience to the training and learn from the Zhang style that both Zhang Qiling and Xiazi had mastered. It was not only because he did not want Xiazi to leave for six whole months, but also because he was gaining something in return in his free time.
Xiazi had laughed non-stop when he suggested offering his house as a training ground, teasing him about how irresistible he had become to Xiao Hua who was reluctant to share him with his cousin. Xiao Hua had, of course, ignored him, but deep down he began to wonder if his relationship with Xiazi had reached a point where he now truly imagined him in a marriage-type relationship and expectations.
Their last conversation definitely headed in that direction and he loved Xiazi very seriously, not only because they have a mutual passion for each other, but also because Xiazi was indeed the perfect match for him no matter how he looked at it. They worked well together, Xiazi was the best support he could ask for, no matter what he might need, because Xiazi was good at everything he did and knew how to handle both work and personal matters efficiently and discreetly. Who else could surpass such perfection, such mutual understanding, such unconditional love, wit and strength?
Of course, his family would not be happy with their relationship and might try to censure/rebellion him in the future, but knowing Xiazi, the man was too cunning and daring to let anyone try to bully him... at that thought, Xiao Hua smiled to himself. He didn't need Xiazi to protect him from the despicable members of his own family, but it made him feel loved and treasured all the more.
"Master Hua, you look like Tianzhen when he looks at Xiaoge with dreamy eyes. Be careful not to end up drooling over him as well." Pangzi made Xiao Hua snap out of his momentary lapse in his own thoughts and forced himself to look at the one sitting next to him.
"You don't need to worry about that, Pangzi, because I, drooling over Xiazi will never happen. It's just that watching him and Zhang Qiling train like this... even you have to admit that they look otherworldly." Xiao Hua said to Pangzi, looking back at the two men exchanging blows, while Wu Xie watched them with excitement, quite eager to try out such moves as soon as possible.
"That's true, just look at how excited Tianzhen is as he watches the demonstration taking place between the masters. Maybe you should join them too and be part of the fun," Pangzi suggested.
"I don't think adding another style when he's just getting a handle on their dynamic will do him any good. He needs to get the hang of the Zhang's martial arts first and then add something else and create his own merge style." He said as he tried to imagine the kind of moves he could create while fusing his own.
Zhang Qiling's forte was his inhuman agility, his moves were precise, direct and efficient, requiring concentration and keen observation of the opponent's ability. His style was not exactly suitable for beginners, but they all knew how stubborn Wu Xie was and so none of them thought he could not learn it, or as humanly possible.
"I think he'll have to train for several years before he can even get close to those two or even you," Pangzi noted as he drank some water under the hot sun, which wasn't wrong, but it wasn't necessarily right in Wu Xie's case.
