Chapter 11

Aleks

November

We circle the Knights mansion. After Owen disabled the security system using the codes Imogen gave us, we're ready to make our move. They're having some potential initiation social thing tonight. It's a small party, but it will be enough to leave our mark. Tate and I came up with the idea to throw Molotov cocktails in the windows and fuck shit up.

Anton can't get away with what he did.

He almost killed my brother, and that won't go unanswered. Fuck no.

If war is inevitable, then I'll do what I have to do to keep my people safe.

Leo gives the signal and we're ready to go.

"You do the honors, Tatiana," I tell her over the radio. I must admit my brother's girl is growing on me. I know he's always been in love with her, but it's only recently I've realized that their relationship is far more two-sided than I initially thought. Tate would clearly do anything for my brother. And for that, she has my approval.

Tate throws the first Molotov cocktail in there. Josh howls like a wolf as he follows suit. I do the same, driving through the flower beds to the next window to do the same.

Chaos ensues inside as the curtains light on fire.

Fuck them.

I light and throw another.

It's only then I see her.

A familiar tall girl with long, shiny blonde hair, ducking for cover.

I then recall seeing the same girl post a photo in that same outfit earlier. I hadn't thought anything of it at the time. But now I realize Imogen fucking Donnelly is in there and I'm efficiently lighting this place on fire with her inside.

Fuck. My. Life.

Imogen

I don't know what I'm thinking coming to the Silver Knights compound by myself. I know tensions are high right now. I know it's the wrong thing to do. But I just can't help myself. Wes invited me to this initiation soiree thing. Wes, my boyfriend's brother. If there is an opportunity to talk to Wes, I am taking it.

I slip on a black turtleneck dress with long sleeves that goes to my knees. It's not as sexy as some of the dresses my cousins might suggest, but I feel comfortable in it. I throw my hair up in a messy braid and don my glasses for the night. I pair the look with a pair of killer knee-high boots.

I sneak out of the suite easily enough. Tate is spending the night at Zane's, Sophie and Ari are hanging out with Eva at her place.

Wes picks me up. I told him to wait across the street for me where I see him in his swanky looking car. It must be one of Gabe's cars because I know Wes and Rory never had that kind of money. He reminds me so much of Rory, but at the same time, they're nothing alike. His light eyes assess me as I climb in the passenger seat.

"You look nice," he tells me.

I blush under his compliment as he starts his car and speeds off into the night.
