Freen pov

I didn’t know how to feel, seeing the shock on Becky’s face. She couldn’t speak, so I gathered all my courage to say something.

Freen: If you’re not ready to be a parent yet, it’s okay. You don’t need to take responsibility for the baby. I’ll raise my baby on my own, I said, almost in tears.

Becky: What are you talking about, Freen!? I was just surprised, that’s all. And of course, I’ll take responsibility!

Freen: Why are you reacting like that? I won’t force you if you’re not ready. Tears started falling down my cheeks, probably because of my pregnancy hormones making me emotional.

Becky came closer and hugged me.

Becky: Am I really going to be a parent? Are we? I’m so happy, baby. Don’t worry, I’ll marry you before you give birth. I’ll give you both a good life. She kissed me on the forehead and lips.

Then she knelt down and placed her hand on my belly.

Becky: Baby, stay there for now, okay? Mama and Mommy love you so much. Don’t make it too hard for Mommy, okay, little beanie? Then she kissed my belly.

We continued eating, and Becky had a lot of questions. She wanted me to get a check-up right away to make sure our baby was okay.

Freen: Baby, didn’t you have something to tell me?I asked her.

Becky: Ah, well... nothing. I forgot. Don’t worry about it; the important thing is that we’re both happy for our baby. She answered as if she was hiding something from me.

Now, we’re at a private doctor’s office for a check-up. Everything went well, and I was also given vitamins to keep the baby healthy.

When we got home, Becky talked to me about working from home for now because she was worried about me and our baby. We also decided that I would move into Becky’s house, as it’s spacious and I wouldn’t need to use the elevator.

Becky: Baby, can you work from home instead? I’m just worried that something might happen to you and the baby if you go to work every day.

Freen: Baby, I’m fine, and so is the baby. The baby’s still small, and I’d just get lonely at home since you’re not always around. And I promise to be careful.

Becky: Okay, you promise, right? But starting tomorrow, I’ll take you to work and pick you up. No more driving for now, okay?

Freen: I love you, baby.

Becky: I love you too, baby, and I love you, Beanie, she said as she touched my belly. This might be the best birthday present ever.

Freen: Are we still going out later, baby? I can cook here at home.

Becky: Yes, we’re going. I don’t want you to get tired, and I want to take you to my favorite fancy restaurant.

That night, she took me to a beautiful rooftop restaurant. It was also noticeable that we were the only people there, and there were many flowers. As soon as we sat down, our food was immediately served. In the middle of our meal, I remembered the gift I had for her.

Freen: Baby, close your eyes and don’t open them, or else you’ll be in trouble.

Becky: Why, baby?

Freen: Just close your eyes, no more questions.

She closed her eyes, and I quickly took out the envelope and placed it in front of her.

Freen: Okay, you can look now, I said with a smile.

She opened it, and I could clearly see the joy in her eyes.

Becky: Is this real? Maldives? Just the two of us?

I nodded, smiling as I looked at her.

Becky: You’ve given me so many gifts today. First a baby, and now this? I’m so happy!

She immediately came over to me and hugged me tightly.

Freen: Baby, you're hugging me too tight remember we have our baby here , hehe.

Becky quickly let go of her tight hug, bent down towards my belly, and apologized.

After we finished eating, someone suddenly started playing the piano beside us, playing To The Bone. Becky quickly asked me to dance.

This day was absolutely perfect. All my worries disappeared. I can't explain the happiness I feel because, finally, I found the one meant for me.
