Love is for something

I love you
It feels different than when I've said it before
Usually, when they give too much, i just end up walking out the door
The pain that I've felt feels like a barrier between
As i answer once more, "Yeah, my favorite color is green."
I can't help but think that something is in the way
All of the experience i have with prolonged heartbreak
The pain i have hidden way deep inside
Resurfacing sometimes when i look into your eyes
Because what is that, is it a future I see
So shiny and bright, and woah, i look happy?
Because I've never felt something like this before
And im trying so hard to shut and lock that door
I won't leave this time, or at least that's what i say
As i slowly make it through another day
But the pain doesn't hurt as bad as before
And i smile now as i say, "I love you more"
