Rafe and I got off his bike and after he took off his helmet he helped me with mine.
Rafe bought it for me days before what happened with the cross and I barely had a chance to use it.
When I heard the bike, a drunk Barry came out of his motor home.
"What's good, big killer and big killer's wife?" he slurred.
"I'm calling it off" Rafe told him hastily "It's over. I don't want to do that thing anymore" he said as he paced back and forth, Barry was just watching him from his doorway
"Do what, Rafe? I don't know what you're talking about. I don't do illegal things"
"Cut the bullshit, Barry" I said.
After a few seconds Barry walked over to a table he had outside and pulled out a piece of paper.
Rafe and I walked over to see what he wrote.
I got a guy
"What does that mean?" Rafe asked him.
"Layers of protection, Rafe" Barry started to say 'Safety lies in the layers of protection'.
"I don't want it done anymore. Okay? I'm done"
"That sounds like a problem, but it's out of my hands now, Country Club," Barry added.
"Wait, out of your hands?" Rafe approached him quickly "Hey, explain, what does that mean?"
"I'm not the roofer, Rafe. I'm just the contractor."
After that, Rafe grabbed Barry's shirt by the shoulders.
"I wanted YOU to do it, Barry" he said angrily.
"You didn't say nothing about me doing it" Barry replied as he raised his hands "You just gave me money
"We talked about it" Rafe continued
"Okay, that's enough" I went to separate Rafe from Barry, as soon as he let go I pushed Barry with one hand and he stepped back a little "Is it done already?"
"No" Barry replied dryly "You're wasting your damn time with me right now"
"Come on, Bree" Rafe held out his helmet and we quickly got on his bike.
"Always a pleasure, Barry" I told him before we left.
It didn't take us long to get to our destination, besides the fact that Rafe drove at a dangerous speed, it was pretty close to Barry's house.
We arrived at some sort of cabin where there seemed to be no one there until we heard grunting inside.
"Stay here" Rafe indicated to me.
I just nodded before watching him run towards the cabin.
Just before Rafe went inside I heard a scream of pain, it was Ward.
Obviously I didn't know how to follow directions and started walking towards the cabin.
When I entered the shack I saw Rafe struggling with a man who broke free of his grip and threw him to the ground.
"Hey!" I yelled at the man, who went straight at me and tried to throw a punch, I dodged it easily but I didn't see that with his other arm he had thrown another punch, which hit me directly in the face causing me to stagger backwards
"HEY!" Rafe shouted and the man turned towards him, at that moment Rafe hit him with a surfboard and knocked him to the ground to then hit him again and again.
"Rafe" I heard Ward call out to him from the floor.
Rafe didn't stop
I got up from the floor "Rafe" I called out to him.
