The alarm went off, dragging me out of my dreams. I groaned, rubbing my face as I reached over to shut it off. I lay there for a second, staring up at the ceiling, trying to convince myself to get up.

With a deep breath, I threw off the covers and stumbled into the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face, which instantly woke me up. I had enough time to get ready and take it slow.

I picked out my clothes carefully. Not too fancy, it's just a bus ride after all, but I still wanted to look cute. I settled on kinda baggy jeans and a soft sweater. I pulled my hair into a loose ponytail.

By the time I zipped up my bag, I realised my stomach was fluttering, like tiny butterflies were bouncing around in there. I reminded myself that it was just a bus ride, though I knew it wasn't really just that. Martinus had said he was looking forward to it, that had me overthinking everything.

I grabbed my phone, checking the time. 4:55am, right on schedule. I slipped it into my bag and took a final look around the room, making sure I wasn't forgetting anything before heading out.

As I climbed onto the bus, I scanned the empty rows. I slid into the very back seat, happy to be tucked away for the long ride. The idea of being alone for a few hours, getting lost in my book, felt like exactly what I needed. Finally, some quiet time to just relax.

I let out a sigh as I sank into the seat, resting my head against the window. I could already feel the weight of the early morning starting to pull at me. My eyes fluttered closed for a moment and I decided to nap a bit.

Just as I was about to drift off, I heard footsteps and my eyes snapped open. My heart skipped a beat when I saw them- Marcus and Martinus making their way down the aisle. I quickly looked out the window, not wanting to seem too eager.

Martinus' eyes found me almost immediately. He shot me a warm smile, the kind that made my stomach flip. I couldn't help but smile back. He looked like he wanted to say something, but then he nodded and kept walking with Marcus. They took seats near the front. I let out a quiet sigh of relief.

I pulled my book out of my bag, determined to lose myself in the story. Time passed slowly and after about 20 minutes, I was fully absorbed in the pages when I felt a shift beside me. I glanced up, only to find someone sitting down next to me.

It was Martinus.

"Hey."- He said quietly, a small smile playing on his lips as he settled into the seat beside me.

I blinked, surprised. "Hey."- I replied, my voice coming out a little softer than I intended. My heart was racing but I tried to keep my cool. "Decided the front wasn't good enough?".

"Too noisy up there, thought I'd come back here to hang out with you. Is that okay?"- He chuckled, leaning back in the seat. "Of course."- I smiled.

For a while, we sat in comfortable silence. I pretended to read, though I wasn't paying attention to the words anymore. Every now and then, I'd sneak a glance at him, catching him looking out of the window, lost in thought.

After a few minutes, Martinus shifted, turning to face me more directly. "What are you reading?"- He asked. "Just a romance book. Keeps me entertained."-I held up the cover for him to see.
"Any good?"- He asked, leaning a little closer, his shoulder brushing mine.

"Yeah, it's pretty good. You like reading?"- I said, trying to act normal."Sometimes, but I think I'd rather talk with you than read right now."- He answered, his gaze flickering to the book before meeting mine again.

"Alright. What do you wanna talk about?"- I asked, closing the book.

That's how the rest of the ride unfolded. We talked about everything- his upcoming projects, random memories from our childhoods... The hours slipped by faster than I expected, and before I knew it, we were halfway in Berlin.
