The morning sunlight crept into the room, casting a warm glow over the bed where Martinus lay beside me, his face peaceful in sleep.I took a moment to take in the quiet moment before the exciting day ahead. Today was the first semi-final.
I wanted to do something special to start his day off right, so I ordered room service for breakfast. Quietly setting up the tray, I leaned over, gently brushing my lips against Martinus' cheek. He stirred, opening his eyes with a sleepy smile.
"Good morning."- I whispered, smiling as he rubbed his eyes.
Martinus sat up, stretching before glancing at the tray. "Did you do this for me?"- he grinned, reaching over to kiss my cheek. "Thank you."
We ate together, savouring the peaceful breakfast before we'd have to jump into the day's whirlwind. I admired the way he looked, the calm confidence radiating from him despite the nerves I knew were lingering below the surface. We quickly finished our meal and got ready.
Once dressed, we headed out. Once we stepped into the arena, we parted ways, sharing one last encouraging glance before we entered our separate schedules.
I headed into the main arena, where back-to-back interviews awaited. My schedule was filled with interview sessions with different Eurovision artists.
Later, I met up with Marcus and Martinus for a quick interview together, where we discussed semi-final excitement. Marcus was his usual energetic self, eagerly chatting about their preparation and upcoming performance. Martinus, slightly quieter than usual, smiled warmly and offered thoughtful answers.
As the interview wrapped up, I gave them each a supportive squeeze on the shoulder, silently wishing them luck.
At around 6pm, I made my way to an empty changing room. I had everything planned- the dress, the makeup, the hair. Today, I wanted everything to be perfect, not only for the performance but for Martinus.
Just as I stepped into the room and was about to lock the door, I heard hurried footsteps, and suddenly, Martinus burst in, looking completely out of sorts.
He looked like he'd just stepped out of the shower, his hair damp and face flushed. He was still in casual clothes, definitely not ready for the stage. I raised an eyebrow, trying to figure out what was going on.
"Martinus, what happened? You should be ready by now!"- I asked.
He glanced at me, slightly embarrassed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I know. I know. But all the stylists are busy for the next twenty minutes and I need to be ready in thirty! Please... can you help me?"
I chuckled, shaking my head at his situation, but nodded. "Alright. Sit down."
Martinus dropped into the chair, relaxing a bit as I gathered some skincare products to prep his face. I dabbed a bit of moisturiser onto his cheeks, smoothing it over his skin. His gaze softened and he looked at me with a playful smile.
"What's so funny?"- I asked, noticing his expression.
He landed forward, closing the small distance between us and brushing his lips gently against mine. "Just that you're taking care of me. That's cute."
Blushing, I smacked his shoulder playfully. "Stop flirting if you want to be ready in time." He laughed, holding still while I finished his makeup.
