It was a slow day for storm chasing. There weren't any new developments on storms at the moment which led both groups to do whatever they wanted. Cherry found a small area of grass to lay on. She soon decided to message Jane. She hadn't spoke to her since she left Chicago. Jane was happy to hear from her. She wanted all the updates from Cherry. She also shared her updates on her wedding planning.
"Hello, cutie."
Cherry turned her attention away from her phone as she heard Tyler's voice. She scrunched her face as the nickname. She hated when random people decided to give her a nickname. She watched as him, Boone, and Dani had made their way to her.
"Can I help y'all?" Cherry asked when the stopped. She sat up, fixing her hair as the three stood over her.
"Have you heard of Marshall Riggs?" Dani questioned her. Cherry tilted her head in confusion.
"Why are you asking about him?"
"Because Dani here did some research on him." Tyler answered. "He doesn't seem like the person you would want to work for."
"Is that so?" Cherry asked, feigning disinterest.
"He's your friends uncle, right?" Boone asked. Cherry nodded her head.
"Yes. He's Scott's uncle. I don't understand why y'all care though."
"We just wanna make sure you know who you're working for." Tyler told her. Cherry raised her eyebrows at him.
"And you care about what I do why? Because I look like some damsel in distress who needs saving?" Cherry questioned him. "I appreciate your concern, but you don't need to worry about me."
"Do you even know what that Riggs guy is doing to people?" Dani asked Cherry causing her to look over at her. "He's coming in and buying property from people whose lives have been destroyed."
"And for an extremely shitty price." Cherry finished. "I'm aware he's an asshole. I've done my research."
Tyler blew out a breath, now quiet annoyed with the girl in front of him. "And you still want to work for him?"
"Of course I do." The three looked at her in complete shock. The three didn't expect this personality from the girl they met yesterday. She seemed so sweet, just like her name. Cherry finally decided to stop playing around with them, laughing at their expressions. "What better way to destroy him than from the inside?"
