Cherry kicked her feet up in the back seat. Javi had decided to leave Kate one last message before him and Cherry left back for Oklahoma. He didn't get a response, so neither one of them thought that Kate would join them. It wasn't until the two were in line at the airport that Cherry spotted Kate walking towards them with an unsure smile. Cherry nearly smacked Javi's arm off before running over to hug Kate. Cherry was happy that Kate decided to join them. It almost felt like the whole group was with them in the car. She smiled as she could almost hear Addy and Praveen arguing.
"I'm not going to lie. We didn't think you'd come." Cherry looked up at the sound of Javi's voice. "Nice upgrade from the old van, right?"
"How are you paying for all this?"
Cherry snorted causing Javi to shoot her a glare. She held up her hands before holding her fingers up, giving herself fake horns. Javi rolled his eyes as she mocked Riggs. "I got investors, you know. Storms are getting more erratic. Lot of new housing developments going up, so the developers want full time weather data. So, anytime a new building goes up, I want a Storm Par radar right there letting people know exactly what the storm's going to do."
Kate smiled, nodding her head causing Cherry to lean up. She leaned against Javi's seat as she looked at Kate. "What is it, K?"
"It's just- Business entrepreneur was not how I saw your future." She said making Javi and Cherry laugh. "And we used to feel lucky if we could get you to wear pants."
"Well, that part hasn't completely changed." Javi said. "I have a feeling you're going to like it, Kate. I know Pie has. Even got herself a boyfriend."
"Javi!" Cherry felt her face flush as she buried her face in her hands. Since she did so, she missed the wide eyed look she got from Kate.
"Boyfriend?"
"His name is Scott." Javi told her. "We've been good friends for years, but he is isn't the easiest person to get along with."
"Cherry-" Kate drawled. Both her and Javi hated her last boyfriend due to how he would act around them when she wasn't around. Not that Cherry knew, but James would be so rude to them when Cherry wasn't around. They didn't tell her because they could tell how much Cherry liked him.
"It's not like that." Cherry mumbled as she pulled her head out of her hands. Kate looked skeptical causing Javi to jump in.
"Pie's right." He told her. "I don't know how she did it, but she's got him head over heels for her. She has him following her around like a puppy."
"So he treats you good?" Kate asked. She watched as a small smile spread across Cherry's face as she thought about Scott.
