(Sam’s P.O.V)
I hear sizzling sounds and birds twitting; I can smell sausages, cooking, and fresh bacon sizzling. I slowly open my eyes, rubbing them, I look around and see that I have a pillow under my head and blanket covering me. I sit up with covers slowly falling off my body. In front of I see a fire pit that still has some smoke coming out. I look to my left and see my friend/crush Hailey peacefully sleeping. She looks so at peace.

“Aww, cute,” I thought to myself, smiling and blushing a bit.

I look ahead of me excepting to see my other friends asleep, but instead, I see on the purple rug a blanket folded next to a pillow that has Rain asleep on it. I look over and see the orange rug has a pillow with a folded blanket underneath. Pulling my covers off and folding it as I place it under my pillow, I stand up, dusting myself off.

“Oh, I see you are awake,” I hear someone say.

I look over to see my dirty blonde-haired friend who is cooking bacon and sausages to eat. I sniff the air, smiling to myself. As I lick my lips, I walk over to the to my friend.

“Here, take some water,” she says, passing me a cup of water.

“Thanks Tilly, I will drink it outside on the porch,” I say, taking the cup and turning and walking over to the porch.

“Wait, when you go outside on the porch, be quiet because Lucas is asleep on the end chair,” I hear Tilly say.

I nod, opening the slide door, walking out, and closing it behind me. I look around and see a window showing a bright sun, birds, trees, white clouds, and a nice sky of forget-me-not-blue. I look over and see my messy red-haired friend fast asleep on a chair with a cup in front of him on the bench. I smile to myself, walking over and sitting myself down next to him. I put my cup to my lips and started sipping the water as it refreshed my body it made me feel like I had just been cured from a sickness. I lower my cup, putting it down on the table in front of me, I look over at my messy red-haired friend whose are eyes close, and his mouth is open a bit, drooling.

“You must have had a rough night if you’re out here, I mean I did same thing when I was mad at my step mum, it’s calming out here anyway,” I thought to myself shaking my head.

I looked out the window, my mind started to drift to memories of my step mum and how she treated me, and I felt tears roll down my face. But my mind comes to a memory of where I see her dead body lying next to my dad’s holding his hand. My eyes widen a bit, and my mouth hanging a bit open, I sit up properly, looking at the sky.

“I know she was a bad person, but my dad loved, and she loved him and for me that was enough, I know she treated me meanly but, I still miss her because she taught me something before this happened,” I say aloud to myself.

“Oh yea, what was that?” I hear someone ask.

I flinch, I turn my head, and I see my messy red-haired friend awake. He was sitting raising an eyebrow at me, unamused.

“Morning Lucas, did you sleep well?” I ask/say trying to change the subject.

“I slept well,” he says, shrugging.

I sigh in relief. I can’t believe he heard me talk to myself, which I do a lot.

“But that doesn't mean you can change the subject on me,” Lucas says sternly, crossing his arms.

Oh, great, how I am going to get out of this one.

“Come on, you can tell me,” Lucas says, concerned slowly lowering his arms as he uncrosses them.

“I miss my step mum, ok?” I say/ask a little annoyed.

“How can you miss your step mum when she treated you so badly?” Lucas asks sternly.
