We were back to the silent treatment.

Or at least that's what I tried to do.

After I had my little slip, I noticed that Almec started acting again as if everything was fine.

Well, as good as before I gave him my ultimatum, which wasn't exactly the best moment in our relationship.

I couldn't let Almec think that I had already forgotten what I told him. He needed to fix his relationship with his lycan and I wasn't going to give up until he tried.

"Hey! I've been calling you for almost ten minutes," Almec told me, passing his hand in front of my eyes to get me to react.

I diverted my gaze towards the fountain and took another sip of my mate.

"Are you really going to ignore me now?" He asked me after standing in front of me, obstructing my field of vision.

Without saying anything, I crossed my legs.

I didn't plan on staying silent forever, just long enough for Almec to understand that something was wrong. Which didn't mean that I was going to do whatever he wanted.

If he insisted on sabotaging his life, I was ready to bite back.

"What did I do this time? I thought we were over all that madness about wanting to listen to my lycan."

At least he understood that I was angry.

I stood up and walked over the bench.

Seeing Almec's look of disbelief, I couldn't help but smile; he was already approaching the point of the explosion.

"What are you? Five?" Almec walked around the bench. "Spending so much time with the children is doing you harm."

I shrugged to let him know I didn't care at all. He could say whatever he wanted but I wasn't going to return to being the patient and loving wife until Almec solved his problems. Or at least until he accepted that he needed help.

"Valentina." He lowered the tone of his voice. "I don't have time to play your games. I'm trying to be patient here but I'm getting tired of you ignoring me."

"Great, now you know how I feel," I said, starting to walk towards the interior of the mansion.

"When did I ignore you this much?" Almec asked, walking behind me.

"Don't sound so surprised, since the Moon Guardians members arrived I have to fight for you to pay me the minimum amount of attention."

"That's because I have—

"Responsibilities as the alpha?" I interrupted him, stopping walking. "We talked about this before, what you do is beyond your responsibilities, it's all about your revenge. The need to avenge Ezra consumes you and you don't have the guts to accept it."

"Do I need to remind you what you were like when you arrived at the pack?"

Almec stood in front of me, almost touching my body. It wasn't the kind of closeness I had grown accustomed to. That time he was trying to intimidate me.

"Don't back down," my wolf told me.

I know.

No way in hell I was going to give him the satisfaction of making me bow my head.

With the thermos under my arm and the mate in the other hand, I looked up, sticking out my chest.

"I don't remember being as bad as you. I never ignored my sister and I never stopped talking to you even though at that time I didn't even know you were my mate."
