"There's a problem with that," I whispered to Almec so the warriors wouldn't hear us.

"You don't want to go with me," Almec stated, taking a step away from me. "I guess you don't want to leave Faustina alone."

I shook my head. "No. Well, yeah, I'm partly worried about being apart from Faustina, we were always together, but there's also another detail: I'm not your luna."

Almec looked down at me frowning, his eyes were full of confusion.

"What do you mean? You are my luna. Just because we have our differences now doesn't make you stop being my mate."

Differences? I thought, but decided not to ask him about it. The situation was already complicated without wanting to discuss our relationship problems.

"Can we keep talking in private?" I asked him, looking at the group of warriors who already had their attention on us.

"Yeah, it's better that way." He put the letter in his pocket. "I'll tell Geldra to keep an eye on Faustina."

"And put your shirt back on while you're at it," I yelled at him as he started to walk away.

"Why? Am I distracting you?"

Almec smirked at me and I had to lower my head to hide my blush. Without saying anything, I slipped away to where Faustina was.

"Princesa, I have to go for a while to talk to Almec, Geldra is going to take care of you while I'm gone. Okay?" I told my sister as she continued practicing her punches.

"Yes! I like it when Geldra takes care of me." Faustina did an impromptu happy dance.

"Be good, don't ask her to buy you a gift," I warned her, patting her head.

"I'm always nice, everyone likes to be near me," Faustina answered, offended, crossing her arms.

I was about to list the times she convinced the pack members to buy her what she wanted when Almec returned, followed by Geldra.

"All set," he told me, offering me his hand for me to take.

We hadn't even gone far from the training area and I already heard Faustina asking for something.

"These gloves are the best, can you get some like this for me?"

"I knew she was going to ask her for a gift," I murmured as we crossed the street. "Bet she's even using her puppy face."

Almec laughed. "It's impossible to win against her, if Geldra doesn't get her the gloves I assure you I'll buy them for her."

"I already told you not to do that, she's going to get capricious." I slowly hit Almec on his arm.

I couldn't really get angry with my sister, much less when she was the only one who managed to make Almec laugh so much.

The alpha who did not stop fighting with me and insisted on isolating himself in his suffering, ended up in a fit of laughter at Faustina's witticisms.

It had been a long time since I was able to be with him without fighting. Although walking hand in hand with him with our sides pressed together went against what I promised him, I preferred to be happy for a moment rather than continue arguing about his lycan.

"Where are we going?" I asked Almec to break the silence that grew between us.

"To the pack meeting room, it's much closer than the mansion," Almec replied, squeezing my hand. "I figured you wouldn't want to stay too far from Faustina."

Just as Almec said, it didn't take us long to reach the small building created just for meetings.

I waited, waving to the people passing by while Almec took out the key and opened the door. An advantage of being the alpha's mate was that Almec had access to all the buildings in the pack.
