Chapter 5:Time stopped

The reunion party. Where all of the people we know reunite in one night to talk about our little separate adventures. "Little" they say... "Not many stuff to say" they said... We had our little party on the highest floor of the castle. The moon was out, the wind was singing... everything was just perfect for a reunion. I saw my 9 knights just sitting down at a table chatting while waiting for me. Their little chat stopped when Light waved at me. I decided to let them be for a while and told them I wanted to talk with the other people that I hadn't seen in months...or probably years. They nodded at me and I knew that was a sign for "We'll wait for you". I saw my son in the distance and quickly walked towards him. I sneaked behind him and hugged him tightly. "You're a big boy now huh? I heard you got your own crew." I said while tightening the hug. Quest couldn't breathe and just stayed still in a state of loss because he knew he couldn't get out. "Too... tight... Dad..." Quest said while gasping for air. I let him go and fixed his suit. "Just being a proud father for my son... Besides... where is your little sister?" I said while scratching my head. Why wasn't my daughter here? The last time I saw her was in Valkyrie camp... "She said she couldn't make it for tonight... She has a training session with the goddess of wisdom Athena... Though it's kinda weird that she isn't replying to my calls..." Quest said to me with a concerned voice. Another weird thing for the night... Might just be a coincidence... But this is too good to be true... I shook my head. This is just a minor coincidence. Nothing to overthink about here. This sentence replayed in my head like a video stuck on repeat. "Umm, Dad you okay?" When Quest said this I quickly came back to reality and continued to smile. "It's probably nothing... Nothing to worry about..." I said with a voice that was hiding the truth. I put on an awkward smile and continued with the conversation. "Where's Ion? Isn't he your right-hand man?" I said this while looking around in an attempt to find Ion. Usually, right-hand men would stick with their captain. "I think he said that he wanted to go to the toilet... but I kinda don't know why it's taking him so long to come back" Quest said with a worried tone while scratching his head. Weird. A lot of weird things are happening tonight. While everyone was having fun, the door was burst open. It was as if a bull opened it. When I looked at the door I saw Ion standing there... but he was disappearing... His face... He looks scared... for the first time. I looked at Shadow and he started to run towards his son and hugged him. I ran towards Ion as well to find out what was happening... "Father... Help me... I'm scared..." Ion said while tearing up. Tears. I didn't expect Ion to cry... "What's happening... Where is your other arm?" Shadow said with concern. Woah. I have never seen these two being this caring before... I had mixed emotions. Should I be happy because they care for each or should I be sad about the current situation? "I don't know... Father... it hurts..." Ion said with a saddened voice... He was trembling in fear at this point. Everyone started to gather around on the scene. Suddenly a few people started to have the same symptoms that Ion had... It started with your hands, and then your legs... before they just disappeared completely one by one. For the first time... I didn't know what to do. The castle started to shake. No way. This castle was built from Heaven's item... What is happening? "EVERYONE!!! PREPARE TO GO DOWN!!! FOLLOW ME!!!" I yelled in a last attempt to give these people hope. I charged towards the exit door and looked back to make sure everyone followed. No one did. I turned back to check out what was wrong. What is happening? What got me into tears is that... my friends... my family... my people... all of them turning into dust. I ran towards my wife to save her... But my shirt was pulled by someone. I couldn't see... my eyes... It's full of tears... so blurry... I wiped my tears and saw that I was pulled by Shadow. "Kuro... listen to me... my son went to see what's wrong with time... and as expected... we saw that there was something wrong that was happening in the timeline ... Someone is trying to destroy your past. I will have my son escort you to the timeline that is being messed with." Shadow said while looking at me with eyes of hope. My eyes stopped tearing for a bit and I nodded. Ion came towards Shadow and cried in front of him. "Father... follow us... we can fix this... I'll try to make you proud." Ion said while stuttering from crying. "Try? What do you mean my son?" Shadow said in confusion. He doesn't know? "Wait... I thought you had never been proud of everything I did... you compare me to the king's son..." Ion cried even more from the confession... At the end of the day, he was just a boy who wanted his father to look at him proudly. Shadow's eyes were tearing up a bit but the tears disappeared and he put his hands on his son's shoulder for reassurance. "My son... look at me... for years I've compared you to the king's son... but it didn't mean that you were bad... I compared you to a bar of gold when you are a diamond... My diamond. The king's son is strong but I know that you have the potential to be stronger... to have what I didn't have... So now make sure the king gets in this ruined timeline and make me prouder..." Shadow said calmly. Ion nodded and opened a portal to send me to the timeline that is being ruined. He waved and cried before leaving. Shadow waved back and... smiled. As I and Ion got into the portal, I saw my castle... falling down... crumbling... and I was left here to think about how everyone I loved was in the castle. In the portal, we saw a timeline that is being corrupted or rather... changed. We moved closer to that timeline but Ion started to disappear. "Ion..." I said in a concerned tone. "I'm fine..." He replied quickly while not even looking at me. I noticed that he was starting to turn into dust... little pieces of him were flying off... "Hey... Make sure you succeed alright..." Ion said in a calm tone while looking down at his feet. I stood there confused. "What are you saying? You're gonna help right?" I said in confusion. Ion nodded and asked me to close my eyes. Without a second to waste, I shut my eyes off. I felt his arm around mine as he guided me. "You ready?" Ion asked me. I nodded. "Well I'm not..." Ion said in a hushed tone. What does he mean by that? His arm lets go of mine and I stood there confused. His hand grabbed my arm and threw me towards a timeline bubble. I opened my eyes in shock and saw him standing there like a hero. He smiled and screamed towards me before I reached the bubble. "SAVE US ALL KING ZETSURA!!!" Ion yelled. That was the last thing I heard and saw before my vision went blank.
