Once things -- and most importanlty, they themselves -- had calmed down, Y/n and Bakugo rushed towards where Midoriya and the unknown boy had fallen. Todoroki had already approached them, having brought the case that was the cause of all of this.

''. . . treated like a criminal, like me. His name is Rhody.''

Y/n could pick up the conversation by now. Rhody's ponytail bounced as he looked back at Todoroki. ''Thank you for earlier.'' A little pink bird appeared on his shoulder, repeating his words.

''More importantly, the case!'' Bakugo yelled as he skidded to a stop; due to the suddenness of it, Y/n almost ended up crashing in his back. ''It's about Humarise, right?''

Deku gasped. ''What? Humarise?''

''Yeah, that's why we came here,'' Todoroki informed him. ''We thought we might be able to get some important information out of it.''

Y/n rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms. ''And also to help Midoriya escape his mass murderer allegations? Maybe? That ring a bell?''

She thought that maybe those words would comfort Midoriya, but his head seemed to be elsewhere. He suddenly looked up at the case Todoroki still held, pulling it closer to him, tilting the bottom in his direction. ''What is it, Midoriya?'' Todoroki asked.

''This . . .''

After discovering the opening in the bottom of the case, the five hid in the shade of a fallen boulder. A small, weird-looking device had fallen out of it and Midoriya was trying to figure it out.

''Hm, what is it?'' He asked as he shuffled with it. ''How does it work?''

''Is it not that one?'' Todoroki pointed at something. He was trying to help, while the rest stood to the side and watched. Y/n couldn't help but tap her foot in impatience.

''No, it'll just go back to how it was.''

''This is hard.''

''Hm, what is it?''

Bakugo kicked off the wall and reached to snatch it out of Midoriya's hands. ''Give that to me! I'll just blow it up!''

''You can't do that, Kacchan!''

''Deku, can I see that for a second?'' Rhody joined in this time, grabbing the device from Midoriya, then sat down in front of him.

Y/n moved to crouch down next to the three boys in curiousity, while Bakugo crouched away, seething. Everyone ignored him, focusing on Rhody. ''You know how to solve it?'' Y/n asked.

''I did a puzzle like this before, when I was a kid,'' Rhody explained as he moved pieces of the gadget. ''Um, uh, like this. All right! Got it!''

As Rhody opened it, two things fell out in Midoriya's hands. An information chip and a rectangular, blue . . . something. Neither of them was sure what it was.

''Okay, there must be a town at the foot of the mountain.'' Todoroki stood up, chip in hand. ''Let's look into it.''

They made it to a hotel where they could use a computer after Todoroki had pulled some strings. Midoriya put the chip into the reader and hundreds of files loaded up on the screen. ''Woah, there's so many! Where should we look first?''

''Move!'' Bakugo pushed Midoriya to the side and Y/n pinched the bridge of her nose. ''Where's the newest timestamp? It's this file.''

It was an audio file. Bakugo played it and moved enough so everyone could get closer to listen.

''My name is Alan Kay. I'm one of the scientists Humarise kidnapped.''

''Kidnapped?'' Midoriya whispered.
