74 | bakugo gets impaled

that's the third movie done! i'll keep on writing the manga, and after checking, apparently the fourth movie fits before the beginning of the war, so i think i'll have seen it by the time i get there and just hope it'll be out to watch somewhere by the time i have to write it; but tbh depending on how the movie goes i might just skip it we'll see

In the duration of the flight, Todoroki had called the HQ back in Japan to inform them that they were in a possession of the key that could stop everything and they were heading over there. The four students could only hope the news would reach the rest of the heroes around the world before it was too late. 

It had gotten dark by the time they'd made it to the location of the Humarise HQ and it had started raining. Rhody had told them he'd land, but Midoriya declined, telling him to turn back. 

''Huh, why?'' Rhody asked as he looked over his shoulder. 

''Commoners like you should stay put,'' Bakugo pointed out. 

Midoriya opened the door of the plane, standing first. Bakugo was second, with Y/n behind him. She turned to look at Rhody. ''We'll be more focused if we know you're not in line of danger. Don't worry about us, this is what we've been trained for!'' 

Todoroki neared behind Y/n. ''From this point on, this is a job for heroes!''

The four of them jumped off the plane almost simultaneously, plunging down along with the rain. Y/n's heard hammered in her chest due to the lack of ground, but she was starting to get used to it. Looking to her right at Midoriya, she watched his Quirk light up. Her mind flashed back to their first mision to a Humarise base, how he'd softened his landing with his Quirk by strengtening his feet. 

Maybe if I gather my energy in my legs like him, I can do that, too. Y/n pursed her lips. Was this time the time to try? 

They were greeted by a hoard of bullets; Humarise soldiers were gathered in front of their base, this time many more than they'd found at the other base a day ago. Y/n threw her arms out, creating a force field around herself just as the bullets started reaching them. 

Bakugo, afted dodging a lot of shots, used his AP Shot to blast the soldiers away. Y/n followed along, taking down her force field long enough to send a few Match Cuts down, aiming at the ground around the soldiers rather than the people themselves. There was a soldier with an energy-based Quirk, sending blasts in Midoriya's direction.

The ground was nearing, but the shots weren't stopping. Y/n looked down. Shit, shit, shit, either I'll break my legs or this will actually work. Y/n closed her eyes, channeling her energy. She looked to the side; Bakugo was flying towards her, but he was dodging bullets. She was falling faster than he was approaching. 

She looked back down. Her whole body was glowing. Just how much energy was this going to exhaust? She closed her eyes, channeling as much power as she could in her feet. 

And then she hit the ground. 

She panted heavily, opening her eyes slowly. The dust she'd raised had cleared quick due to the rain and the anxiety was slowly leaving her body, allowing her to take in what had just happened. 

Her feet were firmly planted on the ground as she crouched, one hand on the ground to stabilize herself while the other one was in the air. She breathed heavily as she noticed her body's glow disappearing, no longer illuminating the solid ground underneath.

I'm down. I did it. She couldn't help but grin. ''I DID IT! HOLY SHIT! THAT WAS SUCH A SUPER HERO LANDING!'' She laughed, the fear turning into excitement. Her celebration was cut shortly when a bullet rang past her ear. Instinctively, she raised her arms to create a force field around herself. Alright, now that I'm down and my legs aren't in pieces, let's get this party started.
