Mirror images of myself – though at varying sizes – glare at me in the living room's light. It's like I've walked in on a cult. Slenda stands out among them, her stature obvious despite her getup. I smirk at Helen, understanding her plan at a glance.

"The Dregs have a boogeyman, and you're making an army of them," I walk into the room, seeing Jane smile at me when she lifts her mask, "Not what I expected, but it's the psychological warfare we're going for. Thing is, will it work if it's not me doing the killing?"

Helen shakes her head, "The Dregs will not look too deep into it. The scream is all we need. As soon as they hear it, they know the slaughter is on."

Jane, Lulu, Clocky, and Slenda all pass by me, pulling down their masks as they pat me on the chest. Slenda stops, holding my shoulder, staring down at me through a copy of my mask.

"As promised, I will take advantage of what you have fought for. We will brief Slenderman on our plan and finally make our move. Zalga is on the defensive, and we will keep her there," she leaves when Helen joins her side, and she buzzes in my head, "Prepare for battle in two days."

"Battle?" I echo, watching the mansion doors close behind her, and I face the others, "Wait a minute, we're about to go on an offensive with so little notice?"

The others take off their masks, and Jane sits down on the couch where I rest beside her, "Taking too long to mobilize will only give Zalga more time to brace, and it will give her time to catch us preparing. You ought to know striking like lightning is the bread and butter of cutting down your enemies."

"Yeah, well, we're not gonna finish her entire army in one go. We can make them break rank, but that's about it. That's not even considering the—"

Lazari cuts me off, groaning under the feathers of her garb, "The Behemoths, we know. They won't be a big deal! I'll pound 'em and smash 'em. I need to eat some more, anyway."

Glancing back up at Slenda, I put my faith in her once again, "You really sure this will work?"

"That depends on Slenderman's lot. Our mansion alone cannot hope to take on Zalga, but if he joins us, we may deal a blow that Zalga may never recover from," she squeezes my arm and walks on, "Two days, (Y/N). I want you at your best, so continue to rest."

"Yes, ma'am..." I watch her leave, some of the Proxies still lingering.

Some begin to separate into groups, Jess eyeing me before turning to Lazari as the room fills with conversation and preparation. Zero stays on the sidelines, and I walk up to her.

"You can sit this out," I say, "I'm not going to force you to—"

"Fuck you, princess!" she scoffs, "I'm smashing skulls no matter what. I'll crack yours open too if you treat me like I'm glass."

Someone overshadows me from behind, "Wretch..."

Zero looks up at Nightmare behind me. She smirks before walking away, pulling down her mask and becoming just another Skulker. Nightmare's glowering eyes are glued to her, forgetting I'm right next to her.

"Nightmare?" I look up at her.

"I doubt any would taketh note of Zero falling 'midst the fray," she rumbles.

"Easy there," I take her hand in mine, "I don't want you getting hurt because you're pissed off," I glance at the rest of the room and smile up at her, "Everyone else is pairing up with a battle buddy. Do you want to stick with me?"

Nightmare grins, her voice mixing with Ally's, "Thou art mine primary pick. Let us seek silence in solitude."

She squeezes my hand, and the two of us appear in my room. I start by walking over to get my gear, putting it all on and tightening anything loose. Ally – with Nightmare relinquishing control to her – sits down on my bed, her mask off. She's staring down at the pillow, the wrinkles of last night's sleep still there.
