Four years.
Goddamn. This book took four years of my life to write. Since late highschool to mid-college, this book has grown with me, and I grew with it. I don't even know what to say here. Thank you, I guess. I know a lot of people who started reading when I published this book and had only, like, twenty chapters and six hundred reads. If you came far enough, stayed far enough, to see this note. This note is for you, especially.
I don't doubt that this book also helped you in some way, if you really devoted your nights to reading every release. I read these books the same way. Up late at night and reading on my phone. It helped me cope with certain struggles and was something I looked forward to despite it. Did you look forward to these chapters, too?
Well, I did. To writing them, I mean. Again, this book is like a child to me. I can't even remember the moment I started this book back then, it's been so long. Fuck, what do I even say LOL. I guess this is all, really. This book is done, but it will always be special to me. It singlehandedly led to me discovering my love for history after I started writing my Azur Lane book, which I never would've begun if I hadn't wrote this. It genuinely has made a major impact on my life.
Anyway, this book has taken up much of your time already, so I'll keep the rest short. As you might be able to tell, the journey isn't over. There are some glaringly obvious plot points to still be addressed, and I made it so on purpose. One, for a sense that the world remains even though the story is concluded. Two, so I can return and add to it if I ever get writer's block on my other stories.
With that said, this book will be sitting on the shelf, so-to-speak. You'll find me in Hymn From the High Seas. I know a lot of you follow me for this book in particular, and I'll understand if you basically part ways with me because of it. But Hymn is also special to me, and you'll probably see that in its author's note at the end of that story too LOL. But, yeah, I know a good portion of you love that book too. That's where I'll be.
Thanks for walking this journey with me. I hope you've grown positively from reading with me.
Warm regards,
TheDukeOfWolves
