ji-yoo let out a yawn. it was finally saturday, and after a week filled with work and school, she could finally rest at home. once she walked out of her room, she noticed that her father was not at his usual spot.
she wondered where sicheng could be. usually, he was sitting down on the couch, scrolling down his phone. or, he would be reading the newspaper. it was an activity she found to be extremely old.
but, ji-yoo liked to see sicheng have fun all by himself. she did not mind it, and it seemed like sicheng did not have a problem whenever ji-yoo joked around about him being old. sicheng had a good sense of humour.
as ji-yoo made her way over to the kitchen, she saw that yeri was washing the dishes. from what ji-yoo could tell, the twins had eaten and were out in the playroom. however, there was no sight of sicheng.
" mom, where even is dad ? is he not supposed to be reading his newspaper on the couch ? " ji-yoo asked, approaching yeri. yeri pulled her daughter into a hug, placing a kiss on top of her head. " is he at work ? " she raised her eyebrow.
" yes, he had to go and check some files. " yeri replied, as she continued to smile. " do you want to sleep a little more ? it is barely eight in the morning. it has been a hard week for you. " she fixed ji-yoo's hair, seeing that ji-yoo nodded.
" i will go back to sleep. i am not looking forward to going back to school next week. " ji-yoo complained to her mother, who tried to hold in her laughter. ji-yoo was about to walk away, until she turned around. " mom, are you going to talk to my teacher ? "
" yes, i will. do not worry, i am going to take care of that woman. " yeri replied, letting out a scoff. she looked out the window, hearing that ji-yoo was already laughing. " i can not believe that she is trying to bring you down. your father told me to be calm, but i can not do it. "
ji-yoo nodded. she walked back to her room, throwing herself onto her bed. she was going to sleep, and forget about all of her issues. she knew that sicheng and yeri were about to buy her a piano and allow her to play it, and go into a new world. music was not something she had been familiar with.
she rolled around her bed. she then took her blanket, letting out a yawn. she wanted to fall asleep, but it seemed like she could not. what was she going to do ? she could go up and head over to yeri, and the two would talk for hours and hours.
but, her eyes soon widened. she realised that, once she started playing the piano, she remembered her uncle. yeri's brother was an award-winning producer, and a well-known piano player. he could help out ji-yoo.
" mom ! can you come to my room ? " ji-yoo yelled after her mother. in less than a minute, yeri appeared in the doorway, smiling towards her daughter. she walked up to ji-yoo, sitting down on her bed. " have you talked to uncle recently ? "
" me and him do not really talk, but i called him a few days ago. he is in los angeles, working on one of his friend's albums. " yeri replied to ji-yoo, who was about to close her eyes and go to sleep. " why ? do you want me to tell him about you ? "
" i think he has much better things to do right now. " ji-yoo let out a small laugh. " mom, i hope you are not angry that i am doing this. i remember that you and dad were theatre kids, and that is where you met. you gave me the artistic blood. "
" your father only became a theatre kid, because he failed his math exam. and thank god he did, i would have never met him without it. " yeri replied. she laid down next to ji-yoo, wrapping her arm around her daughter. " well, i am guessing you are going to sleep. "
" can you stay here ? " ji-yoo suddenly asked, not letting go of yeri. she nodded, making ji-yoo smile. the two remained in their exact spots, enjoying the moment they spent together. it was a rare moment, because of how busy ji-yoo had been.
