46 | better than ever.

the interior of the restaurant was prettier than sooyoung had remembered. beautiful chandeliers brought a lot of warm light to the place, while the tables had gorgeous flower arrangements set on them. it was, truly, a romantic place.

there were mostly couples in the restaurant, with a lot of them looking as if they came to blind dates. sooyoung let out a laugh, noticing a wave of awkwardness coming closer to her, as she spotted a younger man waiting for someone.

jaehyun had gone outside, to speak to someone. of course, it was about work. everything was about work, when it came to her lovely prince. sooyoung looked at him from the window, seeing that he was walking around the pavement.

she turned back to the restaurant. waiters were running around with people's orders, others were complaining about different, and useless, things. everyone seemed to be having an amazing evening, and sooyoung hoped she would have one, as well.

" i really need to buy myself a new necklace. " sooyoung mumbled to herself. in a complete rush, she forgot to put on most of her jewelry. though, she stopped trying to put it on, after losing her favourite bracelet. that was tragic.

she managed to forget about it, even if it was a very important piece of her life. after searching for it over and over again, sooyoung realised it was pointless. she was never going to find it, but instead make herself feel worse.

suddenly, her eyes fell on jaehyun again. a car stopped in front of him, and jaehyun took a smaller box. he waved towards the driver, then made his way back into the restaurant. what did that other man bring him ? sooyoung was very curious to see.

" sorry for that, i realised that i left something at my office. " jaehyun said. sooyoung tried to cover up her disappointed expression. of course, it was about work again. what else did she even expect from him ? he was that obsessed with his job.

" no worries, i was thinking about something else. either way, the waiter did not bring our food. " sooyoung tried to smile at jaehyun, who replied by letting out a laugh. he was surely able to read how sad she was, judging by her forced smile.

however, jaehyun chose to be quiet. he poured himself a glass of water, and looked on his phone. sooyoung widened her eyes, clearly annoyed. he could have started a conversation with her, instead of scrolling down his phone.

" what exactly do you work at your father's company ? are you like doyoung, or do you have a higher position ? " sooyoung asked. if jaehyun liked his work so much, then maybe they had a chance to talk about it.

" well, i am on the board of directors, and i handle most of the overseas connections, for now. " jaehyun smiled. he was happy to talk to sooyoung about a topic he enjoyed, " also, you are still coming with me to that dinner, right ? "

" of course ! " sooyoung immediately replied, almost as if she was defensive about something. " but, i need to buy a dress for it. you know, i want to fit the theme for this dinner, if there is one. although, i think i will get a black dress. "

jaehyun nodded at her words. sooyoung seemed really passionate about her outfits, the way she displayed herself and every detail about her looks. it was fascinating for jaehyun, who did care about his appearance, but not as much as she did.

he found sooyoung to be the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes on. there was something so strange about her, that had made her catch jaehyun's attention. and, now, he was very interested in sooyoung.

she was not like anyone else jaehyun had ever met. sooyoung was a gorgeous woman, with so many layers to her and what she actually was like. jaehyun was thrilled to have met her, and was excited to get to know her even better.
