PewDie’s P.O.V
My eyes flickered open but shut just as quickly when they were met with bright sunlight. Huh? Where was I? Sitting up straight I looked around at my surroundings. There were a few trees in front of me, scattered lazily along partly dried out grass. But behind me... I turned, only to come face to face with a tall stone wall. Grabbing onto the jagged stones I pulled myself up and peered over at it. It seemed like this wall belonged to some sort of castle.
Ah, the simulations! That’s where I am!
Now I remember. How had I even forgotten?
“Hello?” I called out. Where had everyone gone? I thought we entered the simulations together. We had last time anyway. So why was I alone? I guess we were working against each other this time. We’ve probably just been dropped off at different points inside the game. Yeah, that’s it. That’s got to be it. Nothing’s wrong. Everything’s fine.
I began making my way along the wall, following it and trying to search for an entrance. Small rectangular windows covered the walls, getting lost in the old grey stone. I stretched onto my tiptoes and tried to look through them but all I could see was darkness. The gems are most likely inside there, inside this huge, dark stone building. Oh God, I’m never going to find one. Maybe I should try looking for my friends first? Red said we can all work together, help each other out so maybe their already looking for me.
Turning a corner I came face to face with a large wooden door. It hung slightly ajar and the lock was clearly broken. Upon further inspection I discovered that whoever had broken in at been in a rush. The lock seemed to have been hammered off and lay crushed and barley recognisable in a small dirty puddle. Two large muddy handprints remained on the dark wood, showing where it had been shoved open. So, at least one person was inside. Hopefully it was one of my friends. Maybe it was Cry? Although I was growing worried due to his absence I couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought of him hammering the door open, covered in mud and losing patience with the thing.
I slipped in through the door and followed the large corridor behind it. This clearly wasn’t the main entrance but it was a way in nonetheless. A cold draft bounced from wall to wall, making a quiet whistling sound. Hmmm, this place was pretty creepy. I’m not sure I like it here.
Why did these simulations have to be so eerie? It really is just like a game. Why couldn’t they put us into a nice game? Like... Just Dance or something? Something tells me that wasn’t going to happen. These simulations are just going to get worse and worse. Or better and better, depending how you look at it. There must be some intense technology behind all this though. I lifted my hand to the wall and brushed my fingers against the cold stone. It felt so real.
A loud clatter erupted from ahead of me. It seemed like it was coming from behind the large door at the end of the corridor. Leaving the wall, I walked towards it and pushed it open slightly. A dark figure was walking across the room, a large hammer swinging in his grasp.
“No...No,” another figure was mumbling over and over. I craned my neck to see further into the large room. It seemed like an entrance hall. A large spiral staircase stood proudly at the far end of the room and a huge bolted door at the front, worn out tapestry hung from the ceiling, giving the castle a defiant medieval feel.
Turning my attention to the two figures and I was shocked to see that I recognised them. I was sure the man with the hammer was one of the bandits we’d run into in the desert. It wasn’t the tall man who’d tried to kill Ken but another, dark skinned man who now wore long dark robes. Their clothing much change according to their environment just like character in a game. But, to my horror I knew who the other figure was instantly. She was cowering under the staircase, her red hair seemed windswept as if she’d been running and she was breathing heavily. Her short pants vibrated around the room and made the man chuckle darkly.
